Thanks for accepting. I will mostly be using arguments this round. I will wait for music and some extra clips next round. C1: Viewer's Ratings The Internet Movie Database allows users to rate the shows which they watch. Empirical evidence from these sources, show the follwing: Breaking Bad: 9.3/ 10 (93%) [1] South Park: 9/ 10 (90%) [2] — So, when it comes to how well a viewer appeals to the show, although competitive, Breaking Bad has better ratings among viewers. C2: Critics' Ratings In 2011, Breaking Bad got the Best Show of the Year mention(s) from the Boston Globe, LA list, the Tampa Bay Times, the Orange County Register, the Buffalo News, and the Contra Costa Times (coincidence). [3] Stephen King, the world famous author, called Breaking Bad the best scripted show on TV. [4] This year, Breaking Bad won the best actor in a drama series and best supporting actor in a drama series Critics' Choice Awards, and was at the very top of the best drama series. [5] Breaking Bad has gotten a Satellite Award for the Best Drama Series, and overall, the show has gotten 27 awards, including several Emmy awards. [6] As well as its widespread universal acclaim, Breaking Bad has been called the greatest television drama of all time by some critics. [7] [8] The American Film Institute listed Breaking Bad as one of the top 10 television series of 2010 and 2011. [9] Forbes mentioned that Breaking Bad was the Best TV Show on television. [10] C3: Appearance/ Description Visually Astounding The show takes excellent photography into the mire of every frame that is used to create such a well flowing show. The quality, the balance of tension of colors as well as mood and light, and by excellently capturing the background details as well as the surroundings (New Mexico), Breaking Bad is one of the best shows on television when it comes to visual quality. My preview photo illustrates this point. The Flow The writings of the storyline flow along very smoothly. There is no filler, and it is paced well. And, the writers have brilliantly displayed the art of cliff hanging as well as keeping the story intense, fast, and keeping people on the edge. Cliff hangers have a distinct role, and it would be wrong for me to show one, but to conclude here, the writing flows very well, and keeps us all interested in the storyline so much begging for more, and pursuing the next events to come. You devour the story like crystal meth (pun intended — for those who have seen the show). The Reality The acting is beautifully carried out to make it seem like real time. You don't look at your watch or change channels. You are invested emotionally in the show, and with the acting has various depths of subtlety. It makes you wonder who the character really is, and watching the character act makes the story unfold. Bryan Cranston (Walt) has won several Emmys for his leading role in Breaking Bad. By seeing him and the storyline unfold makes it very interesting in seeing how a normal suburban father and teacher transforms into something nearly at first inconceivable. The characters all have a level of depth and personality that makes them complex, making predictions nearly impossible to come up with. Humor The show very cleverly includes humor in the best places, and uses the awesome flow of the storyline to incorporate the humor in the best humor. The interactions between the characters, especially between Walt and Jesse (two main characters) makes up great moments. I will include an example later in this debate. Awesome Chemical Reactions Chemistry is at the core of how Walt got to where he became. The show also includes several scenes of Walt's chemistry teachings as a high school teacher, which can be fascinating. And other chemistry they use and show, shows chemistry in action settings. My chemistry teacher said that Breaking Bad wouldn't help prepare me for Chemistry, but said it sounded like a great show. Music and Background The music in the show awesomly combines with the setting and story, and I mean extremely well combines with the setting to create suspense beyond words. The New Mexico/ Albuquerque suburban/ desert setting combines with the music, and the drama of the series makes an excellent blend of the elements to create a very pleasing story. Conclusion: Breaking Bad has received widespread and universal critical acclaim, receing very high ratings and getting many awards, including several Emmys. The combination of the elements including the humor, well paced storyline, setting, the music, background, the visually stunning scenery, and the ideas and life make all these elements of the story beautifully fuse together to form a drama that is absolutely special. It is real, it is alive. It is Breaking Bad. Sources: [1] http://tinyurl.com... [2] http://tinyurl.com... [3] http://tinyurl.com... [4] http://tinyurl.com... [5] http://tinyurl.com... I can't wait.
Hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about.
The reason I originally wanted the cap was in several debates, my opponents have abused the last word advantage using new arguments, new contentions, new evidence, etc. that I couldn't rebut. So I hope you accept this debate and we are all candid yet aggressive.
