THis is true that Brett Favre has better stats then Marino.

First i will give you my position....Favre is a great quarterback but Marino is better. Here is why.

This is a debate over past and present. Dan Marino played in a time where passsing was less used and running dominated the league. Players were smaller ,wide receivers werent as tall,or fast. True, Favre has the record for most consecutive starts, with advanced rehab and the fact taht football isnt as brutal as it was in the 80's it would be easier for a player to start more, and MVP awards.

HE IS LEGENDARY. FAVRE IS THE SPAWN OF MARINO AND FAVRE HAS A BETTER LINE, WR's,AND SKILL POSITION PLAYERS AND THE FACT THAT SINCE GB HAS A SOLID DEFENSE HE NEVER HAD TO REALLY BECOME A 2 MINUTE DRILL QB UNLIKE WHERE MARINO EXCELLED AT THAT

Your Argument:
"Marino-Most career attempts"

My Response:
If Marino had more attempts than Favre, yet Favre has more yards, wouldn't that make Favre a more efficient QB? I think so.

Your Argument:
"Passed for 4,510 yards over career in playoff games"

My Response:
Favre had 4,902 career passing yards in the postseason.

Your Argument:
"Threw at least one touchdown pass in 16 of his 18 playoff contests"

My Response:
Favre threw at least one TD pass in 18 of his 20 postseason games.

Your Argument:
"Played 242 games, starting 240 of them"

My Response:
Favre has played in 255 games to date, and has started 251 (in a row I might add) of them.

Your Argument:
"Career completion percentage of 59.4%"

My Response:
Like I said above, Favre has a career completion percentage of 61.4% to date.

Your Argument:
"Most Seasons, 3,000 or more Yards Passing: 13 (1984-92, 1994-95, 1997-98)"

My Response:
Dude, get your facts straight, Favre has 16 seasons with 3,000 or more yards passing (1992-2007). At least say where you are getting your info from, or tell me you are lying.

Your Argument:
"Most Consecutive Seasons, 3,000 or more Yards Passing: 9 (1984-92)"

My Response:
Yet again, another lie. Favre has the most consecutive seasons with 3,000 yards or more passing (1992-2007).

Your Argument:
"Most Seasons, 20 or more Touchdown Passes: 13 (1983-92, 1994-95, 1998)"

My Response:
This is another lie. He shares this record with Favre.

Your Argument:
"Most Consecutive Seasons, 20 or more Touchdown Passes: 10 (1983-92)"

My Response:
I am getting tired of pointing out lies. Favre has 12 consecutive seasons with at least 20 TD passes.

As you can see, Favre is actually better in most of the categories you said. He actually holds some of the records you said Marino holds. You need to cite your sources or tell me you are lying.

Brady isn't done with his career, so there is no way you can compare him to anyone. When it's all said and done, maybe... but not now.

Anyway, you're reasoning that Marino is a better quarterback is flawed republican92. Statistics are the only way to show something is better, because the others are unmeasurables and opinion. In your opinion Dan Marino has better knowledge and made it look natural. But I argue the opposite way, that Favre made it look easier and knew more. Added to that, Favre won Super Bowls, while Marino didn't. If Marino is the best all time, why didn't he get his team there? I can't vote for anyone who hasn't won a championship, and Favre has.
Regardless of my personal opinion, Pro won this round outright. It helps that Con gave up though.

I'm sorry but statistics show nothing. Dan Marino was a much better quarter back because of how great of a player all around he was. Its like Walter Peyton and Emmit Smith, statistic show that Smith is better but if you ask just about anyone else, they'll tell you Peyton just because of the grace he had, the way played and new the game and made it look so natural. The same goes for Marino. Statistics show that Favre is better but he doesn't look as good and just plain isn't the best.

This is great and all but I say that Brady is the best QB all-time because he is currently leading a team to a near perfect season(14-0) and has never lost a Super Bowl (3-0) and as a starter. And he on the brink of break the single season TD'S and Yards at the same year. Also has a better passing comps (62.9%) To see the stas that I posted go to http://www.nfl.com....
