I will argue for the case. First is for acceptance. It is unrelated to the black slang "brother."

The word bro is commonly used by white people when seeing a friend, but black people usually have a different approach when metting a friend by saying "Sup Nigga" or "Sup hommie" . One of the major points to why Bro is white slang

First of all this isn't relevant. The debate in question is the origin. But I love to rebute this nonsense you're repeating (not that you're stupid but that this is nonsense stupid people have made up)
So, wrong.
In fact, Italians and Spanish use the word more often than any other ethnicity. Just watch the "Bronx War"
https://www.youtube.com...;(since it would take forever to load all the piece since the piece is gone)
"Bro" in this country was popularized by two shows "Seinfeld" (watch the "Doorman" episode) and "jersey Shore" later on. Mike Tyson may have popularized the word among blacks in New York (since so many liked him), but it's important to remember, he was raised by Italians (he never knew he real mother).

Therefore it is not related to "brother" at all, and it sure isn't a white slang either.

On an unrelated note, I lived in New York and in Orlando. Now in the South, blacks do say the word, however the origin is in question (hence the title of my debate).

Now to continue...
The origins of the word "bro" are not from Nords or Jews, or from blacks, but from an English Norman named John Evelyn.

Evelyn is a surname of French origin, from the Normans, and many don't consider Mediterraneans as white. I don't.

The reason black people say the word is that it was introduced to them during slavery. House servants were not slaves or mistreated. IN slave times, it was common for the upper class to treat slaves like crap, in every society. House servants were raised in English homes and most likely learned "bro" from their fathers, the masters. It carried on into Southern tradition since then.

It is not related to "brother" at all (the black slang) and it isn't white in origin. I've never heard a Dane or Swede or Jew to this day say it. Neither have I heard a Northern black person say it either.

As I have said the origin of the word is Spanish and Italian in origin, since so many Italians and Spanish say it in their own languages in addition to English. I've never seen a black or white person say it. Shows that portray blacks from the North using it are inaccurate, for this reason (like "Jeffersons," "True Colors").
