My opinion about getting out of campus for lunch is that it should be allowed because it should be allowed because the school prepare us for the adult world, so we should be able to deal with the fact that they are becoming responsible of getting out and choosing what to eat. The school should also have a place to have lunch. In other places in the world, like Brazil, kids can stay in school for lunch or get out to buy something to eat, and they don't get hurt or don't come back to school. Some people say that they should not get out, but doing that the school doesn't show trust to the student and can possibly make them used to have someone that takes 100% care of their food. If the school does not trust the student to get out and come back to school, why do we made filed trip? Why do they teach us about everything if we can not use it? We should be able to leave the school in the lunch period.
I accept this debate. There are few foods that one cannot just store in a container to eat during lunch, and in most cases it is much easier to get the meal before school. Furthermore, many kids don't have watches, and may lose track of time. In school, there is a clearly heard bell to tell students when to get back to class. Outside of school, a kid may wait in a line for half an hour and end up being late to class. Also, schools already trust their students. We have the freedom to get a snack after school instead of having to get on a mandatory bus home. For all these reasons, students should not be allowed to leave during lunch.
