Capitalism needs the government in order to sustain itself.

Lolbertarians and anarcho capitalists may tell you otherwise, but even John Locke, one of their heroes stated that democracy needs to be in place in order to rule over as the tyranny of the majority. Which is pretty funny that he says that after stating that humans have an innate respect for each other's natural rights. If each person had respect for natural rights, then there wouldn't be a need for a majority to enforce it.

Lolbertarians and anarcho capitalists will tell you that this innate respect for natural rights is a basis for capitalism to be government free, while ignoring that Hobbes asserted that it was human nature for humans to look out for their own self-interests and that solving this can be made through a social contract.

The government's job is to enforce social contracts. The capitalist versus the worker will always need a social contract that the government will have to enforce. Without government, the worker and the capitalist will certainly be at war. Therefore, capitalism wouldn't exist if there wasn't government oversight.

Sure, I'll give this one a go. Let's make this a clean and well organized debate. Opponent takes the floor.

Anarchy and chaos ... a person can not conduct business trade under these conditions. At the end of WW1, the German emperor resigned the crown. In those historic conditions, people did not conduct business and trade. Capitalism, a word for business and trade.

Anarchy and chaos do not make ideal conditions for Laissez-Faire. Therefore what role does the government play in order for Capitalism to work? Government, its first role or function: to prevent Civil War among and between the people of that nation. Government supplies Order to society. The Order might be harsh and violent, as in the case of dictatorships. None the less without Government, Order collapses. For example: the US illegal invasion of both Iraq and Lybia. Both invasions replace dictators. What came out of those vile invasions of imperialism? Total chaos and anarchy ... Civil War. Therefore pray for the government, for otherwise the people shall eat each other alive!

I don't see what's funny about being a libertarian (you do, since you used the term "lolberterian"). They, along with anarcho-capitalists believe there should still be law enforcement, but they think it should be in the hands of citizens rather than governments. As in, people should protect themselves or at least hire people to protect them.

Government is antithetical to true capitalism.
