Opening/Background.
This video is a few months old, but it has a valid point about the problems in school systems all over the world.
They spend all this time teaching us things that are not used in daily life after school. They ignore the things that could save lives and help many people live their lives and provide for their families. I do not blame the teachers for this i blame the people that are in charge of telling us what we need to know and ignoring these basic things.

The Debate.
Up to about fourth or fifth grade everything in school is pretty much fine. A few things in some subjects need to be changed. Like the part of history class where we learn about slavery in the US. We all talk about and remember the African slaves but no one talks about the Irish slaves. They pick and choose bits of history that fulfill an agenda of keeping us placent with life.
In Elementary School should be the introduction to a wide range of topics and this is where the general classes need to be. And then going into Middle School
(Jr High) the curriculum should change to include things that are really useful in life. Keep English class for teaching students how to read and write. Keep History class so we can learn about the past so we don't repeat the same mistakes our great great grandparents made.
Middle school, particularly eighth grade, topics that are truly useful should be introduced in classes. And then in High School instead of math classes that only teach algebra, geometry and calculus should be moved to the elective list of classes and math classes that teach students what a budget is and how to create one. This skill is useful no matter which career path people choose. And a class in paying taxes for seniors in high school would be great because a lot of the kids i went to school with had jobs and taxes to pay in high school.
Somewhere in the middle of all of this, students should be taught all of their human rights. Yes introduce kids to all of these different topics and teach them a bit about everything but there is a point in time where you need to take them out of Geometry and teach them life skills that everyone can use as police officers, office assistants, cashiers at Wallmart. Budgets help people keep track of what is being spent versus how much money they are making.
High school is supposed to be the place where they prepare students for college and life in the "real world." But there is no preparation for the world after school. There is no class that prepares students for taking care of a child, because that is more useful than a list of poetic things that girls should not have to say to say "no" to sex.

Your turn.

Hi, im not from the states, so I lack of knowledge about the subjects American schools teach and its content. (Plus, im sorry for my language; Id be very grateful if you correct major mistakes)

I may be wrong with my opinion, I frequently am. But lets examine the facts.

Firstly, schools has to be considered as a preparation for the adulthood. Schools provide basics and teach theories, which can be applied in the adulthood. Even the unpopular and on the first look unneccesary math classes become relevant. During math classes, students learn to recognize complex pattern and solve difficult problems. For example: You have a 25 feet square garden and you would like build a fence around that square. Each side should have the same length. Now you wonder how long every side have to have. Instead of hiring someone who solves this simple problem you are now able to take charge - thanks to the school. Even setting up a budget, which frankly isnt so complex, is possible after you are graduated. Additionaly, you daily interact with people, so you gain social abilities, which again can be applied when your friend is depressed. School prepares for the university, which prepares you for your job. Its up to you whether your job is rewarding or not, so you can save people lifes. However you should be responsible for your life, before taking care of other people.

Secondly, it takes up to much time and money teaching the students the content in detail regarding history and financial topics such as taxes. Especially the financials are complicated. If you teach students how to pay taxes or apply for a loan they are likely to say:"Why do they teach me this. My first tax payments is only in a few years." In addition, students are bound to forget the things they leran in class.

In my opinion the demanded things should be provided by the parents, because most of them comes along with life experience. If these things are taught by the school, whats the parents purpose, except providing food and a accommodation? Moreover, students are able to gain further skill or knowledge in their leisure time. If there is a specific topic that interests a stundents he should be responsible for his own education.

In general, the school prepares for the future life by providing common knowledge, which can be applied in life. Lastly, students are responsible for their further education in their leisure time.
