This debate will be on the topic "Childhood is the best time in one's life", as you might have guessed.

This is my first ever debate, so I may be inexperienced, however, I am fairly experienced in debates in real life, so I'll do my best.

Structure is as follows:

Round 1: Rule Explaining
Round 2: Introduction of First Argument
Round 3: Rebuttal and Introduction of Second Argument
Round 4: Rebuttal and Introduction of Third Argument
Round 5: Rebuttal and Conclusion.

Please accept, anyone who is interested.

According to my opponent's request, I will first like to explain my rules. My structure will be:
1. Explain what my structure is.
2. Introdcution of all my arguments.
3. Rebuttal and expansion on my arguments.
4. Rebuttal and further expansion on my arguments.
5. Rebuttal and a final word.

Opponent: Thank you for making this debate.

Ok, because you seem more experienced than I am.

First, I would like to define what I think is childhood.

To me, childhood is from ages 4-13

My first argument is the...

INNOCENCE OF A CHILD
The innocence of a child is an argument in favour of the title idea.
This is a valid argument because this idea is recognised by the government (In sending children to detention instead of jail), parents (As a 15 year old, the penalties for things I do are much more severe compared to when I was younger.), and teachers (Ie, At schools, for a 4-8 year old student, the punishment may be 'Come stay at lunch', but for older students, Saturday detentions are introduced).

This is because adults think teens are matured in the mind and can choose what decisions are fair and which are not.

REBUTTAL IN ADVANCE: FREE CHOICE
Most arguments in favour of Con involve saying thechildren are controlled by parents and cannot do what they want. While sometimes, parents do restrict children wrongly because they are paranoid people (trust me, I understand this!), most of the time, it is because the child is too immature mentally to choose what decisions are beneficial to the child.

I agree with your definition of childhood as ages 4 to 13, as from ages 0-3 you are an infant and a toddler, and after 13 you become a teenager and then a legal adult.
So to state my arguments.
1. Childhood is not the best time in one's life because so many other things can happen in their life. For example, I could do something good as a child, but 30 years later, cure cancer, win a Nobel Prize, and live a great life. After that, their childhood will be completely forgotten.
2. Childhood is not the best time in a person's life because they are not completely free. According to studymode.com, your freedom as a child depends on your parents. Another example of limited freedom is child curfews.
Later I would like to get deeper into these arguments.
Oh yes, my opponent asked if I was more experienced. This is actually only my fifth debate on this website, however I am experienced in in person debates.
