Civil Unions are a form of discrimination against the gay community. I have several gay friends and they all are disgusted by the idea of having to call marriage by a different name. I believe that gay people should have the right to get married, but I believe it should be called marriage. The idea that society should mask a term just to "get away with something" is absurd. I believe the term "civil union" has only been created to lessen the outrage of conservatives because they aren't ready to accept that the gay community exists, and will always exist, and that they deserve the same rights as anyone else, including the right to marry. I believe this is nonsense because the right time to do the right thing is always right now. Civil unions are not adequate, it is not equality.
