Affirmative assertion: Courts have the power to reduce racial discrimination
1.Judge Garrity told Boston students they would have to be bussed; this had to be obeyed.
2.The police were used to reinforce Garrity"s decision.
3.The school were run by the court, and eventually desegregated.
Affirmative assertion: To create a desegregated school system, a judge should be able to tell parents where their children must attend school.
1.Busses are being attacked.
2.50% of white kids stayed home.
3.In 1972, black parents worry about bussing and don"t think it"s going to work.
Affirmative assertion: In 1974, court-ordered busing was the only strategy that could have desegregated Boston"s public schools.
1.In 1964, thousands of black students and hundreds of white students boycott school for one day to protest the inequalities of segregated schools.
2.In September 1965, black parents in Roxbury begin Operation Exodus. More than 400 students are bused daily from overcrowded black schools to under enrolled schools in predominantly white communities within the city of Boston.
3.In 1971, a racially imbalanced school in Boston has increased from 46 to 65 (more percentage of one race).

Carlos' questions to Wenda
Why where the schools run by the court if they only got to choose where the kids went?
Why did 50% of whites stay home if the blacks were the ones getting attacked?
why did they want to go to all being desegregated if the schools were still seeming like they were segregated?

Carlos' Rebuttals
1. The courts cant run the schools because they dont have the right or power to create the school guide lines and if the court ran the schools what about the school board that would need no point of that.
2. I feel as if the busses were being attacked because the court was forcing them to be desegregated. The people of the schools didnt vote on the situation in being seprated in the first place.
3. 50% of the white kids stayed home because of the parents and they was they tell their kids about the blacks and make them seem like bad people but they not. They enforced that the blacks would mess up the education for the whites but that was wrong. The whites messed up the education for the blacks because they was the one being tourched by everyone and anyone thats wasnt black in the school.
