Debatable Point: Debate.org should limit the number of debates that any single user can challenge simultaneously.

One-Round debate, opening argument: Our story begins when DocORock stumbles across an amazing Web site, Debate.org. He likes what he sees; he reads through the do's and better not's, creates a user account; DocORock catches on quickly, looks to the sky, taps his chin, then...he creates his first debate. He waits.

Only moments later, another user challenges him. Things are going wonderfully already! Except...the user that challenged DocORock's debate has six others with which to follow up. And DocORock's debate is the other user's second challenge - ever. Instantly, our hero feels he has been caught inside what he views a "loophole" on the site already. It seems any user can "hog up" all the challenges, frivolously.

DocORock creates this debate. Our story continues now as he waits for the rebuttal.

I personally am dbatng 25 people at a time. I think this is unfair to limit th number of debates. This website is simply for fun and if they want to hav fun by debating they should be allowed to. The number of challenges would make this game less fun foreverybody and the website would lose traffic and eventually not be able to support itself. We should allow people to do all they choose on this website.

If the four spelling errors and five grammatical errors in the Con's five sentence case provide evidence, then it seems being involved with simultaneously with twenty-five debates, an extreme number, prevents serious elocution and rhetoric. Without due diligence by both instigator and contender to create a researched and articulate case, the debates on this website devolve to petty regurgitation of "talking points." Clearly, the content of the Con's case, by highlighting the the kind arguments that occur in the Pro's example, wins the debate for the Pro.

If you wish to win debates, you must write elegantly and error-free. Please note the spell-check icon at the bottom of the text field.

Leaning Pro. If you can't manage the debates that you're doing, you should stop. It's unfair to force a challenge on somebody, get them involved, then not respond.

Anyway, I'm leaning Pro on this one, Con needs a more persuasive argument. I think it'd be kinda funny if he went for Free Speech.

Even if its for fun (which it arguably isn't) there still should be a limit. You still have yet to post back on my debate policydebategod.

Added, 25 debates is extreme. Make sure you can respond to everything you pick out.

It seems there is NO limit to the number of challenges any single user can accept, simultaneously. That's my point - the site should have a limit (probably one).

There isn't a limit to challenges...is there?
