I think divorce is bad for kids because it causes money problems, depression, and bad sleeping habits.
NorthDebater

Con

Divorce is not bad for kids. The relationship before the divorce must have been bad, for the divorce to even happen. The relationship would be futile to the child in many ways. Abuse, Disaagreements, And just a bad marriage would cause the kid more damage. Children need to grow up in a beneficial enviornment, and if the tension at home is ruling the household, it will not help the child. Divorce is the only way the household could get better, if the parent is a good parent, then the childhood will be better.

My parents devorced when I was 5 years old. I think it really depends on the relationship between the parents whether or not its really harmful to the child. I remember my parents fighting all the time over everything and I feel like the divorce was better for me. Further note why should people who no longer love each other stay together? I just think that's dumb.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro makes an opening round argument but never responds to Cons R1 rebuttal. Pro then FFs every round afterwards, so arguments to Con as her arguments were never responded to.
