I think that Disney Princesses do change the way girls see themselves. When we were younger we didn't really notice how perfect their hair was or how small their waists were, but now that we are older and wiser, we see that, they are not even close to realistic.

A little girl sees herself? As what? I'm unaware of this phenomenon.

Children see themselves in the mirror. If they are seeing it differently it's due to a mental disorder and perhaps parental abuse or neglect.

Princesses are a nice hobby and fantasy, that's all.
