Major sporting events means more people visiting the country. does this have a positive effect? Yes, people visiting need rooms to sleep, they need food to eat and they need a safe place to stay. The three basic needs. They have to pay money for the rooms. How does that effect the economy? The government benefits from that by taking taxes, Local employment opportunities, Infrastructure and so on..
