Some-one's respect towards something is going to ultimately be dependent on what that thing is. If I'm an aspiring musician, I'm going to respect a guitar that was a gift more than a Dr. Pepper I worked for.

I do not get your argument. It really depends on the person. EXAMPLE: A thief is not proud of what he works for, he (my reference to a male is irrelavent) lives off of things he takes, and is proud of it. A
