Do singers and athletes make to much money?

I say; do we want our children's role models to be people with very low IQ's that only have any pull with what the say because they have a nice pair of boobs, or because they grew up in the ghetto? Because they were born like us, and were able to become rich?
Many celebrities often try to portray that they are very generous, understanding and giving people. But then when we aren't looking the spend hundreds of thousands of dollars just to have gold plated toilet seats. What good does that do?
Then some people will say; well they deserve to do what they want with their own money. They earned it after all.
Ha yeah they earned it. They sing a couple of songs, or play a lead role in a big movie. Yeah their job can be tough sometimes, but their jobs sure as hell aren't hard enough to justify millions of dollars.
The majority of the people in this world work way harder, receive injuries from their jobs that are way worse than any celebrity faces, and get paid pennies in comparison.
And yet we for some reason think that they are all high and mighty, so we support their life style so they can continue drinking their margaritas on their yachts, and sitting on their gold plated toilet seats.
There is a reason why Shakespeare and so many artist are studied in the schools. Artist are a form of philosophers but their medium can be quite varying. Musicians and movie stars can and do teach us a lot. Problem is not in them selling bad products but rather that we, the general population, buy the bad products more. When artist see this trend they have a choice, stay poor or relatively so but sell only meaningful products or become rich by selling what everyone wants.
I agree with the people you mentioned, "They deserve to do what they want with their own money." You wouldn"t like me telling you how to spend your hard earned money, now would you?
Them being role models to our children is all up to the parent and the environment it lives in, but mostly the parent. If the parent teaches his kid the right lessons and values, that kid would not go and say, "I love Justin Bieber! He is the best human being on the planet!"
In the end it is us the customers who control what the merchandise is. If we buy the good and quality things, quite quickly the market will be flooded with them and not the crap.
P.S. I apologize for any grammatical and syntax errors, still not proficient with English. Also my apologies for me answering so close to the deadline.

For the last few millenniums there is a pattern that humanity cannot escape. It is that of the 3 classes who have had many names and forms throughout the ages but in general stayed the same: high class, middle class and low class. It is a vicious circle that it seems humanity is bound to repeat again and again. I won"t go into details because that is a different subject but if you are curious read George Orwell"s book "1984".
The reason some work but get paid less is because they are paid from someone in the high class. That someone would never pay enough to his workers so that they can escape their mid class and become part of his smaller circle. Celebrities get more than them because they set the price and we buy it no matter what.
