I do belive that we need femenism. Even the situation has changed and nowadays women have more rights than before, there's a lot of work to do. We're still a long way from calling femenism dead. And here's just a few reasons why. Firstly, I should mention that women still don't have equal status to men in many countries and they have to fight for their rights, until they're officialy equal to men in every way. Secondly women still face the problem of unequal pay. Women are paid less than men for doing the same job. Also, there's a lot of legislation that denies women their rights (ban on women driving in Saudi Arabia) and while such legislation exists and there's no equal rights legislation, we do need femenism. Another reason is unfair treatment at job. It's already known that many positions of prestige and of power are occupied by men. And it takes too much time and efforts for woman to have the top position even if she has the same abilities and skills as the man has. I strongly believe that employers and heads should take into account abilities and qualifications ; it's the only thing that makes sense. We need femenism because even nowadays we have the problem of gender expectations. There are still outdated stereotypes when people inculcate a standard of being strong, powerful, dominant, independent in boys thus depriving them of the right to be emotional, weak. While girls are treated as fragile and emotional creatures who only have domestic responsobilities such as cooking, l9;leaning etc. We need femenism to show that it's absolutely normal if a girl wants to be a CEO and a boy wants to be a stay-at-home parent. Femenism isn't about demaning equal rights for women, it should also include equal rights for men. We need femenism because female genital mutilation still happens. It can happen to a girl as young as 5 months old an it's still practiced in 29 countries. I want everybody to understand that femenism isn't about man-hating or female supremacy, it's about equal treatment, the main idea of the movement is "no matter you're a woman or a man, we' re all deserve the same treatment, because we are all human." That's why we need the femenist movement, the people who will talk about problems of unequal payment, freedom of choice, unfair conditions including the problems of slavery and abuse of women in the third world countries. That's why we need such inspirational role models as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Malala Yousafzai who promote gender equality all over the world, who encourage men to join the movement. In conclusion i'd like to say that people should put aside gendered expactations, stop believe in female or male supremacy, raise their children with healthier gender norms and authorities should come and attack this problem.

Feminism was a fantastic movement back when women were not allowed to vote, however now in the US, it is unnecessary. Nowadays, the United States treats its women more fairly than ever in its history. We do not arrange marriages, nor do we regulate what clothing they wear (as long as it is something), and we allow for women to participate in every job field that I could find.
Most of the things that I see feminists complain about are where they have two options, yet they complain when they can't have both. For example, the wage gap that many claim "Women earn 77 cents to every man's dollar", is a complete myth. While this data may be true, it is not due to any wage gap. Instead, this seeming difference is due to the career choices that women make. Women tend to take jobs that pay less, such as teaching or social studies. While this is not a bad thing in the slightest, it means that when the average income for the two genders is calculated, they will show different results due to this fact. If one were to then look at the differences in one job, they would find that there is only about a 7% difference. But wait, that's still a difference, right? Therefore feminism is justified, right? Wrong. This apparent difference is due to another business decision: companies value employees that can stay on call around the clock. The higher level, and therefore higher paying, corporations value employees that can stay on call. Those who have a flexible schedule to come in at midnight when a business deal is occurring is more valued, and many women have a family that prevents this ability.

Also, who is to say that equality will be beneficial? Imagine if everyone in society did the same job, for example, a doctor. If there were no variety in the workforce, then society as a whole would suffer. There would be no firefighters, nobody to stop crime, nor to make food. In the same way, Gender roles allow for the two people in a relationship to perform different tasks and therefore create a symbiotic relationship. If one does not want to follow those roles, there is no legislation saying that they have to. However, they are the most common roles because each person does the things they are best at. For example, through evolution women are programmed to take care of children, as well as to be more caring and gentle with them. This is the reason that in young education and babysitting, the demographic is almost entirely women. They are better at the job, and therefore are more trusted. While I agree that this trust can lead to situations where bystanders are much more suspicious of a man than a woman, and therefore women can more easily kidnap, in general it is a positive thing. Likewise, men are programmed and expected to support the family, whether through hunting or going to an office job. Their more logical brains allow them to work harder for their families, as well as their competiveness allowing them to stive for promotions harder. In this way, both the man and woman in a relationship play to their strengths in order to raise a successful family.
Therefore, I believe that feminism is an outdated and unnecessary philosopy. Men and women are already as equal as they need to be, and therefore the movement in the United States is not needed.

Feminism is The worst thing in the world period. If a man hits a women he's a demon and should rot in prison. But if a women hits a man for No reason but to get a rise SO they hit them is the definition of ignorance.

You should also edit your resolution to say what we need feminism for.

You should really provide a definition for what you mean by feminism. Are you talking about the Feminist MOVEMENT or IDEOLOGY? And are you talking about whether it's necessary in the developed world or just worldwide in general? If you clarify a little, I may be willing to debate you.
