sight damage would only occur if there is a long and constant use of technology.

It's a distraction for students and teachers and it can be misused, for example i usually get distracted by opening youtube while studying.

as lesson times techers have a role to prevent students from being distracted thats why there are blocks on the websites so some sites are blocked.
at study time you shouldnt go on such websites when you know you would get distracted.

Technology is what has advanced our species to what it is today. Technology isn't exactly limited to machines and whatnot, and without it we'd be VERY far behind in our development as a species.
