No, I don't agree with the process of facial transplants. Can you imagine people saying to themselves as they look in the mirror with a new face, "This is still me." when they see someone else? They can easily sugar-coat it, but the harsh truth is that the transplant has changed their life in a dramatic turn.
What if they don't even like their new face? There are many MANY risks and controversies associated with facial transplants. Donors and their whole family have to be willing to turn OFF life-support machines while their relative is still alive and breathing. Recipients have the most trouble you could say, having to take medication regularly to prevent infection post-surgery for the rest of their lives and increasing their chances of cancer and other medical conditions.

Having a new face can be a devastating reality for many people, relatives, friends and family. Even lovers. It isn't like the movies, the other person may not be willing to accept that their boyfriend or girlfriend is now a completely new person.
Finally, is this ethically right? Think about it. A healthy human being is put at risk, just so they can change their face into another face so it will be acceptable to society. They are changing themselves to please others. After the facial transplant, you may even lose your sense of identity. That button nose, those cheeks... They're not even yours, so who are you really seeing in that mirror?

Facial donors are always braindead with no possibility of recovering. A bit far from 'healthy' if you ask me. To be honest, I'd much rather live with a different face than die or have a mangled face.

So the con would rather a person who has a debilitating face (according to civilized standards) to continue to live like that? Through constant embarrassment and possible heartache? I believe that one who does go through a facial transplant should have professional psychological counselling. I cannot imagine what that would do (a facial transplant) to a person's mentality.
