Con

I believe that cloning is bad and unnecessary for not only our health but our society.
Varrack

Pro

I accept. However, Con has made two obvious errors in his debate format:

(1) The resolution is asking whether I believe cloning is unnecessary. If I say yes, and since I am the best source of my own knowledge, then the resolution is affirmed.
(2) Con makes a statement stating that he believes cloning is unnecessary, despite taking the Con position on which he probably meant to take Pro. By doing so he is supporting the other side and conceding his position.

I hope that Con will clarify what he means by the resolution and his opening statement in order to clear up the confusion surrounding the topic at hand.

Pro

Yes, I believe cloning is unnecessary.

There are tons of infants in the adoption system that have not been adopted yet and need homes. Cloning will just make the problem worse with more unwanted babies in the system.

Pro

Con has completely FF'd, hasn't clarified the resolution, and hasn't presented any arguments.

Vote Pro by default.

Cloning is bad in my opinion because human rights for artificial insemination now vastly exceeding human wants and needs. Although it is the want and need for women and now gay couples to have a child of their own, appeased human rights then generate a surplus of human generation where the fostering and adopting services ultimately suffer a decline in child guardianship. There are a tremendous amount of unwanted babies and children in the care system awaiting adoption and fostering - 68.840 in the UK according to the fostering and adoption register!.

Apart from this, if human rights for the 'perfect child' born from clinical fertilization, and adopting so-called immunity to natural born health diseases, granted on almost all occasions, then what will happen to population levels?. Elimination of autoimmune diseases that regulate a natural population control and balance will mean that poverty will soar and in cases where a child is born into poverty - we must not make the assumption that all cloned babies are conceived into wealthy families.

I totally agree with your argument, especially as the human populace already at critical levels, human rights are forever dominating media headlines. How do I contribute to the debate here?.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct to Pro: Double forfeit COMBO! Massive Damage! // Arguments to Pro: The back-and-forth-ing regarding which side everyone was on brained my hurt. However, Pro stated a point and proved it (enough), unlike Con who put an assertion and left it at that.
