Con

My argument is that cheating is getting out of control, people cheat in relationships, for the government, and the main one is School. students cheat all the time

Pro

In Con's resolution he claims that "Cheating is getting out of hand" and takes the Con position. Therefore he believes Cheating is not getting out of hand. Then in his opening R1 statement he claims Cheating gets out hand, which is contradictory to his position in the debate relevant to the resolution.
If my opponent could verify what his position is that would be great.

I can argue either way.
Debate Round No. 1

Con

includes students who go to other students that have already passed a class for help, students that copy off of others" work and those that let students copy, and students that intentionally plagiarize or steal information. Asking a student for help in a course that they have already completed is just one of the examples where peoples" opinions determine whether it is considered cheating or not. I believe if the student was merely trying to understand the material and coursework it is fine as long as the student does the work on his own. If that student feels that he should get help in the form of copying from past quizzes, tests, and worksheets, I believe that constitutes cheating

Pro

Pro only lists what may constitute cheating but never fulfills his BOP, which would be "Cheating is Getting Out Of Hand"

I await my opponent's argument.

Pro

As I have been recently informed, the BOP rests on Pro, but I want to tell the voters, my opponent took the Con position on the resolution "Do you think cheating is getting out of hand" meaning she thinks cheating isn't getting out of hand.

But then in the debate round she claims cheating is getting out of hand, I ask her to clear up the confusion and she never does.

But by going into listing what constitutes cheating, and never that it is getting out of hand.
