Pro

It seems to me that transparency would be teal in its purest form.
FuzzyCatPotato

Con

As Con, I will be arguing that space is not a well-blended teal.

REBUTTAL 1

Pro's current argument is based on two propositions: that space is transparent, and that what Pro believes to be true about transparent objects is true.

Space, defined as "the dimensions of height, depth, and width within which all things exist and move" [1], is not transparent, because it contains non-transparent objects, such as planets. Space, defined as "the near vacuum extending between the planets and stars, containing small amounts of gas and dust" [1], is not transparent, because it contains gas and dust [1][2]. Hence, because space is not transparent, Pro's argument cannot apply.

Furthermore, what Pro believes space would look like is both irrelevant and subjective, and may be thus excluded in this debate.

COUNTERARGUMENT 1

Space, defined either as "the dimensions of height, depth, and width within which all things exist and move" [1] or "the near vacuum extending between the planets and stars, containing small amounts of gas and dust" [1], is not teal, defined as "a small freshwater duck, typically with a greenish band on the wing that is most prominent in flight" [3], because that would mean either that literally everything is a small freshwater duck, or that everything between the planets is a small freshwater duck. If you exist, you'll realize that the universe is not, in fact, a teal. If you look up, you'll realize that space is not filled with ducks.

COUNTERARGUMENT 2

Space, defined as "the near vacuum extending between the planets and stars, containing small amounts of gas and dust" [1], is actually filled with radiation from other stars [4], which makes it a kaleidoscope of multiple colors. Teal, defined as "a dark greenish-blue color" [3], is a singular color. Thus, space, which has multiple and very different colors, cannot be teal, a single color, or even well-blended teal, a series of very similar colors.

COUNTERARGUMENT 3

It's space. If we exclude the radiation from stars, space has no colors whatsoever, because it has no light.

COUNTERARGUMENT 4

I don't think space has any colors. Since this debate is about my opinion, that is sufficient to negate.

SUMMARY

Pro's sole argument has been refuted, and Con has raised 4 yet unrefuted arguments.

Furthermore, Con has brought up 4 sources, to Pro's 0.

Vote Con.
