So unlike many debates. There are few rules here.
Just debate, simple as that, but there will not be any cursing or anger.

Definition- God : the perfect and all-powerful spirit or being that is worshiped especially by Christians, Jews, and Muslims as the one who created and rules the universe- http://www.merriam-webster.com...

No hatred here, there will only be respect between both sides.
I will argue with the pro side.
Good luck

I would like to thank my opponent for accepting this challenge. Well lets begin. Knowing that there will be a lot to talk about I will only place some arguments in.

1. Intelligent design- The very idea that we exist in this universe is proof that there is a God. Here's why.
a.) The fact that the laws of physics are laws proves this. Why does gravity have no off switch? John Wheeler, a proffessor of physics at Princeton University stated, "Slight variation in physical laws such as gravity or electromagnetism would make life impossible. The neccessity to produce life lies at the center of the whole universe's machinery and design." This also shows how we wouldn't be able to reproduce, therefore there would be no such thing as life.
b.) The world and the universe have much proof. The Earth is the perfect size, the perfect temperature, the perfect distance from the sun, the perfect rotation to ensure the warming of both sides, etc. The universe was supposedly created from the Big Bang Theory. This actually could be true, but the question is, what was before that? The only other explanation is that God was there, as he is infinite. However, this is troubling for humans as it is hard to comprehend the idea of something having no end, as finite as we are.

2. Consciousness and self awareness-
a.) We as humans have what others don't. This also leads back to the intelligent design. Why is it that out of all the living creatures we are the only ones with these? Though animals have instict this does not mean that they are doing things out of consciousness. You do not see birds singing because they enjoy it, they sing for attracting a mate, communicating, etc. Lions do not think "Oh, that baby gazelle is so cute I should not kill it because it's still a baby."They kill out of instict to feed.. When we kill, we call it murder, and we even punish for that.
b.) Where did we create music from? If we were just like animals we wouldn't have any thought of delibaretly creating vibrations in the air on purpose for pleasure. Self awareness is another argument I would like to bring up. As humans we tend to wonder where we came from, what's out there, and enter debates in the internet about wether we were created by a being or not. Why does it matter? It matters because we are self aware. If there was no God and we purely came from random design, how would that random design ensure that the homosapien be aware of their existence? This is because God delibarelty placed this into us to be curious, aware, and always look for answers. Which would always lead back to him.

3. The Bible.
The Bible is, in fact, the best proof of evidence that God exists.
Predictions/ show of knowlege- Note that this isn't a "profecy", this is only proof that the bible had known things before many did and accepted them as general belief.

For example the Bible knew the earth was round. In Isaiah 40:22 it states, "It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth." This was written between 740 to 680 B.C. At least 300 years before Aristotle suggested that the earth was round, and about 2000 years before the scriptures inspired Christopher Columbus to sail the world.

When people believed that the earth was carried by an animal or a giant, which was around 1500 B.C., the Bible said in Job 26:7, "He hangs the earth upon nothing." It wasn't until 1650, that science discovered that the earth is held by "nothing".

The Bible even shows knowledge about radio waves. On Job (around 1500), God asks Job, "Can you send lightnings, so that they may go and say, here we are?" This may seem like an impossible feat, but this is something like wireless comunication. All electromagnetic radiation travels at the speed of light and in this is how light is sent and manifests itself in speech. But it wasn't until 1864, around 3,300 years later, that "British scientist, James Clerk Maxwell suggested that electricity and light waves were two forms of the same thing." (Modern Century Illustrated Encyclopedia.)

Yes, man kind has always believed in some kind of diety or God. Religion is as old as the stones when it comes down to it. Whether it's greek, Egyptian or we were in awe of ancient alien life & their technology. Judaism was around before Christ. Mind you jesus was not properly documented till about 450 years after his famous death. Why would we carry on a religious tradition with the feats and concor's of our ancestor's. I believe ancient civilisations would have been able to rule out the existence of a God. Yet to this day he still fills believers with peace. If you look at the pyramids and other achievements it's safe to assume that they were quite intelligent. (there are documentaries on this) religion is separate from the government now but where have our morals came from? Although God is not so evident now as he/it was (I'd assume we had a bigger need back then) but that fact is enough for me to believe there is a God. However I do not think of him as a physical being but a spiritual presence.
Science has not disproved but actually backed up scriptures in the bible. I do not believe the good book word for word but it does bring up some surprising facts from its time. Happy to explain my point more, peace!
