I disagree. It is commonly known that more sleep improves health, and studies have shown that a student's brain is not technically awake until 10 am. If school started at the recommended time of 8:30 am, then students would be able more easily get the recommended 8-9 hours of sleep and would be more alert and awake, which would make them more ready to learn. Some people say that later school times force after-school activities to last until night. I disagree. If school ended at, say, 4 pm, then after-school activities would, at the latest, last until 7 or 7:30 am, which would still be reasonable as it is around the time for dinner, parents would have more time to pick up their kids, and students would still have time for homework, as later school times allow them to stay up later. Students would still have time to prepare for school as well, as they are more awake and ready to prepare their school supplies and such.
