Well, in other peoples minds -- considering "victory" and "success" are different but same, and also considering that connotations uphold their reign on many different terminologies -- to feel victorious and successful are the same things.

Victory, according to Merriam Webster, is "the overcoming of an enemy or antagonist," and success, again according to Merriam Webster, is "obsolete."

Therefore, in a manner of speaking, to be victorious (or the word victory) and to be successful (or the world success) are the same thing.

For example, if you achieve victory, are you also successful; conversely, if you achieve success, are you experiencing victory?

Pyrhic (may have spelled that wrong) victories. Ever heard of them???? You know, when casualties are so high that the victory really isn't a victory??!!
