Pro

Whether you believe it or not, dogs are purple. Due to a recent study by nobody, they have discovered that there is a mutant breed of dog that is a rich shade of purple. (This message is brought to you by a sixth grade idiot, who knows nothing)

Con

I accept.

The burden of proof is on PRO, as he is making a positive claim.

First, he must prove that all dogs are purple--though this isn't the case. See Exhibit A of this adorable white Maltese: http://upload.wikimedia.org...

Even if there were a mutant breed, he loses because not all dogs are purple. The resolution doesn't say "there is a purple dog," but that all dogs are purple. Then he admits that this study doesn't exist, so not even some are purple.

6 points to Con (arguments, conduct, sources). {RFD = Reasons for voting decision: Color only depends on our brain's interpretation. Technically dogs can be purple...}

[*Reason for Removal*] This RFD just advances its own arguments, and fails to explain any of the points it awarded.

What Wylted said is 100% correct. You even said in the debate that this study didn't exist.

You failed to provide that information in the debate, but regardless. You had to prove every dog is purple.

All of you who voted failed to realize that i did not say that all dogs are purple, I said that there is a mutant breed that is. As for my source, here it is, http://static.giantbomb.com...

I see you have failed to look at the statement saying that this was made by a sixth grader who was just practicing making debates

Reasons for voting decision: Pro failed to provide and show how this study proved that dogs are purple. Therefore, the resolution was never fulfilled, so Con wins by default. Sources to Con for giving strength to the negative case that went uncontested.

Reasons for voting decision: Not enough of a lead on sources to claim it, but con was ahead in that area. As for arguments, the existence of not even one purple dog was shown by pro, whereas con showed the existence of non purple dogs (white). I will however say that pro's burden was not proving absolutely all are purple, if they were generally purple (not to say one or two, or a purple spot on a tongue) that would have been enough.
