Don't blame those who buy off the government. Blame those who put it up for sell.

This is the second debate I have created. The topic goes along like this:

Throughout this nation people are fed up with the so called 1%. Whether it's the Corporations, or the people who run them, the general consensus is that these people own the Government. The Government is no longer "We the People" but "We the Inc.". Whether it's our Representatives who are paid off, the Supreme Court who rules Corporations people, or even a presidential campaign where both sides are backed by the largest and most powerful corporations in the world, all blame tends to fall on the Rich and Powerful. But how does one buy a power that isn't supposed to have a price tag?

I will be taking the position that the blame lies solely with the people who sold government power, rather than the people who bought it.

My opponent will take the position that the rich are to blame.

The Rules:

1) Round one is for Acceptance only. Say hello, who you are, why you accepted. The Rest of the rounds are for debating.
2) Always be Respectful. No name calling, vulgar language, or petty comments.
3) Wikipedia is NOT an acceptable source. It will not be tolerated.
4) Always keep an open mind. You may be correct, but if you refuse to listen to the opposition you risk the chance of discovering you are wrong.

I will start by saying, 500 billion dollars. That is how much is spent on advertising pr. yr in America alone; multiply that by 400 countries give or take a billion and I can't calculate the number.

Manufactured consent means, you sell a person something they didn't believe to begin with and then ask them about the opinion you just gave them. This started as early as humans did. There is a 7000 yr old poem from Egypt condemning suicide in the hopes slaves would not kill themselves as to not o to hell. Fast forward to China, sweatshops and suicide nets outside of factories to discourage jumpers.

Money is power, you cannot blame a person for not bidding on something that is not up for sale. We are sold this bill of goods about democracy and all, but the first thing Big business does is put in an electoral college, to be sure we the people don't pick the wrong person.

No one can see the same image all day everyday and not internalize it, that is what advertising does. In Hitler's Germany millions of nice people, were told that Jews were bad. Next he took problems they have, but don't understand and blamed Jews for them all, using "evidence". Next thing you know, Germans went from living and working with these people to they are the devil incarnate. All in the blink of an eye, through state run radio.

Blame is always commensurate with compensation; the people with money to buy the government are the only ones with the power to allow it. In the same way you wouldn't blame a kid for their parents actions, you can't blame the common man or politicians for the actions of the master class.

We the people are the real problem. The millions who are getting freebies from government are the destroyers of freedom. To take by government force wealth from a law abiding citizen and give it to a freeloading citizen is immoral and evil.It irks me to see grossly overweight people get off a bus at a government housing project. If they want to be fat ,do it on their own dime, not mine. The same with women who have children by irresponsible men. That also applies to all the freebies by government to ANYONE.Old, young or anything. Charities would take the challenge of those who really need help. And they would do it , not to get votes, but to honestly help a person rise above their circumstances, that is if the person really wants to be responsible. An empty stomach would be a good motivator to work.
