Disambiguation

Pro

'Don't knock it until you've tried it'; a commonly used phrase to demonstrate the importance of experiencing something before making judgement or criticism. I am a firm believer of this; who would like to challenge me....?!

Con

i would love to do this debate my friends say i'm very daring so lets see what happens?!
Debate Round No. 1
Disambiguation

Pro

'Active discovery' is an important way in which our brains develop and by which we form rich schemata and cognitions regarding the world around us. Without trying the unknown we lack the information and experience to formulate a balanced assessment and evaluation and therefore conclusions drawn without such experimentation are not a true and balanced reflection of that individual's potential experience.

Everyone knows that heroin is bad and addictive. I don't have to shot up with heroin to know that it is bad.

This applies to many things in life, which is why if you have a functioning brain, you don't try everything that is bad to figure out that it is bad.

If Con is actually 14, this is a prime example of why kids should stick to debates about what super hero is better.

Which is why we've evolved with a prefrontal cortex. It allows up to cognitively 'knock' before actually attempting something. Good luck :D

Reasons for voting decision: My vote goes to pro because he explained, and addressed the over killing issue which con actually gave up by saying "umm ok"

Reasons for voting decision: Con made no arguments. Con did not even try to retort and dishonorably conceded the point, losing them conduct. Also, Pro's S&G was distinctly better.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro did presented an argument that was valid, and had better usage of spelling and grammar. No one used sources. This debate was an opinion sharing debate rather than a rational one. Loads of room for improvement for both of ya!

Reasons for voting decision: The Con failed to present a single argument or refutation, however they agreed with the Pro side. This quote was proven by Pro. Pro had better conduct, spelling, grammar (missing a couple of commas), more convincing arguments, but there were no sources. However, this was an easy victory for the Pro side of this debate.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct - Tie, they were both civil. S & G - Tie, both made punctuation errors. Argument - Pro, because Con failed to present a argument and rebut opponent. Sources - Tie, neither used sources.
