I would like somebody to tell me how drugs are not bad. Any type of drugs. Even pharmapsudical drugs. <---- Bad on the immune system.

First of all, i would like to thank you for starting this debate.

Second of all, a lesson in debating. Never instigate a one round debate. It's nearly impossible to win since you can't rebut anything. If you must instigate a one round debate, at least give a decent argument. I generally don't accept one round debates, because it seems indecent to me to accept a debate that's impossible to lose, but I didn't realize that it was how it was until after I'd clicked accept.

Now, we first must define bad in a health context. I would say that "bad" would mean that it would do more harm than good. Clearly pharmaceuticals do more good than harm, otherwise doctors wouldn't prescribe them. If I had a sinus infection or something, the doctor would prescribe an antibiotic. Good effects: I would no longer have a sinus infection because the drug would have cured it. Bad effects: I might have a slightly upset stomach and might require Tums (another drug) to fix that. Tums have no bad effects.

There you go. I hope I have helped.

To the voters: Please don't think negatively of me for accepting this debate. I honestly didn't notice that it was one round. Don't get me wrong, still vote for me, I just felt I had to say this, because I don't like shoo-in wins. I feel bad doing that, so I felt I had to rectify it with an apology.

Gladly abard124.

Well as I said in my RFD, there were no warrants meaning on face neither of you can prove anything. I don't usually default my votes on Burden of proof unless it is more than a one round debate also. So therefore it comes to who ever presented the most powerful and thus cogent argument(s), and in order to understand why one argument is more powerful than another we must look to the impacts of the argument. Thus in comparison we have a wrecked immune system, which directly leads to death, and curing a tummy ache. Ergo the impacts obviously are on the CON and thus I vote to the CON.

And those points aren't actually for sources, but the topic does somewhat make sense.. Not entirely, but it's an idea..

I think I'm gonna give him points for having somewhat of a point.. But, yeah. 1 round debate.. Not very interesting..

I really don't think that it's in any way pretentious to say that it's virtually impossible to lose an argument against something without any arguments. Even I'm not that bad.

Which brings me to my next point. I'm not asking you to change your vote, but I'm just wondering, why do you think that PRO's arguments were better than mine when he had none, and I did? Once again, I'm not complaining, I'd just like to know so I don't make the same mistake in the future (because I must have made a mistake if my arguments were worse than none at all).

VOTES:

Conduct: Tie
You instantly assume you will win, thats great why don't you actually do it rather than being so pretentious as to assume you already have.

Sources: Tie
No sources were used

Arguments: PRO
I had to think about this. At first I was for CON, then a tie, and now PRO, for two key reasons.

1) Their were no warrants in either argument so it comes down to claims.

2) PRO claim outweighs CON claim.

Grammar Con

And I quote, "pharmapsudical"

But I didn't vote, because I figured that that would have been incredibly indecent, considering it's virtually impossible to lose anyway...

When I realized it was one round, I actually considered not posting an argument. Then I considered urging people not to vote...

Then I decided that it was his fault anyway, and he was going to lose to whoever accepted, so I might as well get the win...
