During this election the media has not focused enough on the political beliefs of the candidate.

During the 2008 election (and pretty much every election before it) the media has not focused on where candidates stand on the issues. Instead they focus on scandals, poles, what the candidates are doing, etc.

The rumor, mostly fueled by the media, that Obama is a secret Muslim is a perfect example. Obama's religious beliefs should not be an issue, seeing as he's not running for Pope.

Another example is the media's obsession with John McCain's age. How he's promising to run the US should be what's in the news.

I believe that the media should focus much less on the candidates personal lives, and more on what they say they are going to do for our country.

While I do agree, to a certain extent, that this election has been too filled with frivolity, the blanket assertion that all the media is at fault is incorrect.

On the topic of Senator Obama's religion, the Muslim rumors did not come from any news media, but from online smeer blogs and publications whose only purpose is to mindlessly attack a person's character to manipulate the vote and in general stir up problems. After several weeks of this the mainstream media (CNN, The New York Times, Fox News, and The Wall Stret Journal) reported on these incidents to clarify the concerns. This later led to discusions onto how the Internet was affecting the election and the campaigns of all the candidates.

Yes, I have to concede the argument that the media (primarily cable news) has not focused as strongly as they should have on points such as the economy, the war in Iraq, healthcare, ex cetera. However, the rise in the use of unvalidated "news" sites who do not cite sources, use fallacy to argue, and play towards ignorance, is an important issue in this campaign and does need to be addressed at the same time.

Senator Obama's religion and Senator McCain's age may not be qualifiers for the presidency, however, it is important to know who our candidates are and these radical bloggers are working hard to shade the light.

To the extent of my knowledge, nobody subs or dubs H.

It's better than when it contains slurs about sexual orientation...

Or in this comment's case "Raw H."

I'm sure Rezz and John know what H is, even if it's not clear what qualifies it as "Raw." :D

I would correct my obvious mistake below, but I fear making a mistake again.
