Lets face it, emos pretend to be depressed because they see other people like it and think its cool. Then they start to input in their brains that they are depressed until they actually become depressed. They also tend to post depressing things on social media such as cuts and depressing photos and/or quotes, and this is bad because it could trigger someone with ACTUAL depression. So stop whining and focusing on all the negative things in life and maybe you'll stop being a whiny little girl.

Emos are not "whiny little babies". Let's get this straight, "emo" is a stereotype for people who wear black and cut. For those who do fit the stereotype, it is likely that they A. Have depression, which is a DISORDER or B. They have a bad home/financial/etc. situation. For those who classify themselves as emo and don't fit the stereotype, likely want to feel like others understand them, and trust me, emos can be the most understanding people you have ever met. The people who are "whiny little babies" aren't emos, they are just like you and I, except they don't know how to deal with emotions, bad situations, or low numbers of friends.

If in any way shape or form, you were meaning wanna-be emos, yes they may want attention. However, there is a huge difference between real "emos" and wanna-be "emos". You shouldn't judge a population by a poor or false representative.

Do I believe the emo stereotype is full of whiny little babies? No, I believe that it is an exaggeration. I do believe though that most people inside of the stereotype are doing it for attention. There is a difference between "emo" and someone who self harms. I had depression problems and self harmed as a teen, but nobody knew. I kept to myself about it and didn't broadcast it for the world as a projection for attention. There are what people consider "emo" which are the people who do it possibly because of depression, but also for attention, and the people who aren't "emo" but self harm because of depression and keep to themselves, not wanting attention or pity.

i find most people with depression/actual problems do not identify as emo. They have bigger issues to deal with than wanting to be part if some stupid street fashion clique.

Yes. Im not talkintg about people with genuine deporession or legitimate personal problems. Im mean thise little 14 year ild brats whi wear black and listen to linkin park because ot thinksit makes them special and they want attention so they pretend they have more priblems than everyone else when they really dont. Because solving small problems and developing actual talent and skill for recognition and attention is too much work.
