The constitution is written in English, therefore is is reasonable to claim English as the official language of the United States.

Con

The aboriginal in America(Indians) are not using English. There are lots of emigration from France , Germany and other contries. America is a multi ethnic country. Lots of people are not familiar with English. The constitusion can be changed! So I disagree the topic.

1. The Aboriginals may speak another language but that is their constitutional right written down for them in English.

2. Immigration occurs all over the world that does not mean a nation should change their native language.

3. Many Muslims complain that English translations of the Koran are not accurate, and they would be correct in doing so because no language can be completely translated with accuracy to another language.

Your suggestion if changing the language of the Constitution would in effect destroy it.

America's immigration are MUCH more than the other country.

There are more than 300 language speak in America. English are not the most widely distributed language in the world. How come English should be the official language?

If most of the people agree the topic, then why the Americans don't let English be the official language until now?

Are you suggesting that a nation should change it's language because there are immigrants who want to use their own language instead of the country's language they immigrated to? Keep in mind there is a reason they immigrated in the first place. It might not be such a great idea to attempt to alter country's culture that welcomed them in their time of need.

I do not care if the United States has more immigration that any other language, that is irrelevant. I also do not care if English is the widest used language in the word nor is that of importance.

I have done you the courtesy of responding to your concerns however you did not address any of the above points that I made. It seems that as you got flustered you distanced yourself from the original point and let your grammar slide down hill.

In my opinion the only issue to even consider for this debate is the language of the Constitution.

constitusion = official language? what logic is it?

If most of the people agree the topic, then why the Americans don't let English be the official language until now?

Reasons for voting decision: S+G to Pro for Con's last round, there were errors such as failed capitalization and misspelling. Pro ended with a conclusive attack on Con's entire case. Con then replies with one rhetorical question after another, never once addressing a single argument of Pro head-on the entire debate. Pro explains that having one language all people speak helps immigration, rather than deters it.
