Euthanasia is a topic that is needed. Prove me wrong.
Round one is for acceptence only
Leo.Messi

Con

I accept.

Sinc my opponent has failed to provide definitions for all the terms I shall do so here:

Wrong: unjust, or immoral
Right: moral, just
Euthanasia: killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma

So, I must prove Euthanasia to be unjust, and immoral
and my opponent must prove Euthanasia moral and just.

Pro

Agreed.
The justification of euthanasia is simple. If someone is in incurable pain, why force them to e through it day after day, when there is no hope of a cure, Surely allowing them to suffer no more pain is the moral and just thing to do compared to forcing someone to endure a painfull life that will ultimately only end in death anyway.

Con

Euthanasia is injustice and it is immoral. The fact that you are "killing" someone (definition) in itself is immoral.
Another problem is that "painful disease"(see definition) can be used in many different ways and lead to involuntary Euthanasia.

Example 1: an elderly person in a nursing home, who can barely understand a breakfast menu, is asked to sign a form consenting to be killed. Is this voluntary or involuntary? Will they be protected by the law? How? Right now the overall prohibition on killing stands in the way. Once one signature can sign away a person's life, what can be as strong a protection as the current absolute prohibition on direct killing? Answer: nothing.

Euthanasia is also wrong(immoral) because:
Euthanasia is a rejection of the importance and value of human life. People who support euthanasia often say that it is already considered permissible to take human life under some circumstances such as self defense - but they miss the point that when one kills for self defense they are saving innocent life - either their own or someone else's. With euthanasia no one's life is being saved - life is only taken.

Euthanasia could be misused, and many people could needlessly die...
But what about Euthanasia itself, even if it was NOT misused?
Well the simple fact is-Allowing euthanasia undermines the commitment of doctors and nurses to saving lives. Why save lives if you could make money taking them? This will also discourage progress in the medical field! Why would you work on cures for cancer, Ebola, AIDS, or any other disease when you could just kill the person and have it over and done with? It also undermines people to provide good care for the people who are terminally ill.

Euthanasia is not practical, nor moral, nor justifiable.

Reasons for voting decision: Con's uncontested arguments weighted more heavily than Pro's. Particularly, the capacity for Euthanasia to be abused and being immoral really needed to be addressed, despite Pro having a decent argument. Euthanasia cannot be right if there is such a huge risk involved with it, even if it helps prevent a few people from suffering. So, arguments to Con. Sources to Con for them helping him make a strong argument (although in-text referencing would have been preferred). Conduct to Con for Pro's round forfeit.
