Euthanasia is the act of putting someone suffering out of their misery. It would be inhumane and unfair to make them endure the unbearable pain. If a person asks to be taken off of life support, it should be granted. It is better to end your suffering immediately then to be on life support and being in pain for however long it will take to pass away. Individuals suffering from incurable diseases or in conditions where effective treatment won't affect their life, should be given the liberty to choose when they should pass. Mercy killing IS accepted by the law, so it is legal. It is simply an is an "aid-in-dying."
Euthanasia is the act of putting to death, and murder is the killing of another human being. Therefore, euthanasia is murder. Suppose a teen was very passionate about wanting to end their life because (s)he was suffering depression. In the case of euthanasia, the guardian would do "whatever puts the patient out of their misery". If one didn't care about someone, of course they would allow them do die. It is the same as allowing a teen to "end her/his misery". Euthanasia is also ILLEGAL.(excluding The history of the law's treatment of assisted suicide in this country has been and continues to be one of the rejection of nearly all efforts to permit it. That being the case, our decisions lead us to conclude that the asserted 'right' to assistance in committing suicide is not a fundamental liberty interest protected by the Due Process. Physician aid in dying (PAD), or assisted suicide, is legal in the states of Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Vermont; however, that is different than euthanasia.
Human beings have the right to die when and how they want to. Each person has the right to control his or her body and life. Human beings are independent biological entities, with the right to take and carry out decisions about themselves, providing the greater good of society doesn't prohibit this. Neither the doctors nor the government has the power to decide if you should live or not. Since it is not their life and they are not in your situation, they cannot make that kind of decision for you. It might sound like suicide, but again, that is our problem, not theirs. They give us the liberty to decide our job, our family, our religion, and even our sex preference. Many times we do not have enough money to pay for the needed medical care not knowing if the patient is going to get any better. In a way, we are just wasting time and money on a situation that won"t get better. If the patient wants euthanasia, why not do it if we cannot end the huge amount of money wasted on a treatment that won"t help.
Euthanasia is not a horrible act. People believe that it is associated with suicide but it has nothing to do with that. Suicide is purposely killing yourself without help from anybody else, and it is be done for any reason at any time. The act of euthanasia helps people die peacefully when the time is right. Euthanasia is also done almost every day by family members who choose to relieve people they love from suffering and pain.
