OverLordSandwich

Pro

Who will be courageous enough to argue against the claim?

9spaceking

Con

A baby who cannot think neither talk cannot possibly lie.
Debate Round No. 1
OverLordSandwich

Pro

Ah. You say that but a baby can lie subconsciously!

If the baby thinks the light of the hospital is the sun, then he lied to his own brain un-knowingly...

Paradox: He doesn't know he lied because he thinks it's true. But later in the future he finds out that he did lie to his own thought....
9spaceking

Con

Okay what about a dead person, dead people can't lie because they have neither conscious nor subconscious
Debate Round No. 2
OverLordSandwich

Pro

Well...

I said that everyone lies. Not everyone lies all the time.
The dead person lied in his life-time at least once.
I do not know of a person who never lied (or am I lying to you? (is this a lie too? (what about this?)))

Everyone lies. Maybe at different times...
But...

9spaceking

Con

What about a person who is born in a vegatative state or brain-dead
Debate Round No. 3
OverLordSandwich

Pro

Definition: to create a false or misleading impression
http://www.merriam-webster.com...

The person doesn't need to talk...

Personal Connection:
In my school we have a "brain-dead" student. She is lead everyhere usually by a wheelchair. Occasionaly she would look like she is walking to where she needs to be; but then she would turn around and walk the other way. This is false or misleading impression.

Plus, we don't know what happens in a "brain-dead" person.
For all we know they could be lying to someone in their dreams!

My case stands...
9spaceking

Con

No, a lie is "a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; anintentional untruth; a falsehood."
http://dictionary.reference.com...

He cannot make statements if he is brain dead, in a vegatative state, or a baby. Debunked.

You are going to hate me but here it comes... THE BOMB!!!

You knew that this was going to be a troll debate when I put this in the "Entertainment" section and said: "Who will be courageous enough to argue against the claim?"

Funny enough, you didn't ask for clarification...
I tricked you into aguing the wrong thing! LOL

Let me explain
:
Based on http://www.merriam-webster.com...

LIE:

to be or to stay at rest in a horizontal position
to assume a horizontal position
to reside temporarily
to have sexual intercourse
to remain inactive
to be in a helpless or defenseless state
to be or remain in a flat or horizontal position upon a broad support
to have direction
to occupy a certain relative place or position
to have a place in relation to something else
to have an effect through mere presence, weight, or relative position
to remain at anchor or becalmed
to have place
remain

Now... which one did I mean to say? Hmmmmmm...
How about, ALL OF THEM !

No matter what proof you give, you will always be wrong...

9spaceking

Con

Ahahahaha I remember this one
http://www.debate.org...

Unfortunately... I still win.

Chuck Norris does not do any of those things. First, he never lies (to the standard definition) because Chuck Norris can only speak the truth. Next, he always stand, never resting. He does not need to have sex; he makes baby just by spitting in a chick's a$$. He is never inactive, he's always doing something, even when he looks like he's inactive he's actually destroying thousands of galaxies in his mind. Chuck Norris has no direction, direction is Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris has so much effect it's not really an "Effect" anymore, it's more like the affects of his prescence. He does not "have a place in relation to something else", everything else has relation to Chuck Norris.

Go Chuck Norris. He never lies. Accuse him of such, and he'll let you see what "lying forever" really means.

@9spaceking
You CANNOT blame it on " Debatability".
You accepted a troll debate and you knew it when you said:
"[deathmatch] that is my backup plan" in the comments.
This is your fault if you lose...

It's not a paradox at all. You NEVER made an INTENTIONALLY false statement. No matter where you look at it from, your statement was always false, and it was always unintentionally so. @overlordsandwich

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct to Con because of Pro's last-resort argument in the final round. Arguments to Con because Chuck Norris is a deity, and therefore exists in the hearts of everything. Therefore, Chuck Norris is everyone, and no one can entirely lie due to the portion of Chuck Norris residing in their hearts.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct to Con because Pro introduced a new argument in the final round; I will not be evaluating the arguments or rebuttals presented there by either side at all. The debate was basically just Con attempting to negate the resolution via counter-examples. However, all of them fall flat due to Pro's definition of a "lie". Con tried to challenge the definition in Round 4, but all he does is propose his own alternative definition and expect us to accept it. That is not enough; when it comes to setting definitions, it is more or less first-come/first-serve, and Pro was the first to put forth a definition. In order to successfully challenge that definition, Con needed to also provide reasons for why his definition is superior, but he did not, and thus we stick with Pro's definition by default. Since Con was unable to give an example of a human being who has not "created a false or misleading impression" before, the resolution remains affirmed, and I vote Pro.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro was, indeed, very clever. BUT if he wanted to twist the context of the topic, he should've clarified (at least a little) during his first few speeches. It's just... stupid. You can't just start debating about something completely different, during your fourth speech... Anyways, conduct and arguments go to 9spaceking for those reasons. S&G goes to Pro (I found less grammar mistakes in Pro's speeches).
