Evolution is just another theory and takes up class time. There is no physical evidence that backs up this theory other than atheists scientists who state that this had occurred some billion years ago. Because so many science teachers believe in this false belief, they often (according to my classes) try to convince the students into believing it. Yes, most people argue that it should be taught to show the theists know the other side of the argument so they can decide, but dose that mean than Christianity or Islam or any other religion should be taught to all the atheists so they can decide as well?John Lennox once said "Nonsense remains nonsense, even when talked by world-famous scientists."

Con

1. You said that the only reason it's taught is cause of athiest scientists, however that is not true. Many Christians and other religions believe in evolution and will say that their God caused it to happen, the Catholic Church says you may believe so as long as you believe God did it.
2. Evolution does have evidence. Unlike present in your argument, evolution has more evidence then any other theory, fossils show us and prove so much, including the variety of species today. To say that evolution is just another theory would be impossible to say cause a lot of evidence supports it.
3. Schools don't have to teach it's true. Schools are just required by law to teach what it is, however they don't teach your it's right or wrong and even tell you that you can decide for yourself.

3 points to Pro (arguments). {RFD = Reasons for voting decision: Arguments to pro on account of the fact they seemed more well thought out. Neither side gave any sources however, and have III rounds next time pro :)? Conduct appeared to be pretty good on both sides, and pros arguments were adequate so I agreed both before and after with pro.}

[*Reason for Removal*] This RFD is too generic on why it awarded arguments.

None of the realigon groups believe in evolution. I myself am christian but I think that none of those should be taught in school. just let school be school.

I'd like to add that I think both evolution and creationism should be briefly covered in the classroom. Both are technically theories, meaning neither one is correct. I personally believe evolution to be a MUCH more sound theory, but that's beside the point. They are both theories - they should both be covered.

Reasons for voting decision: Completely tied, other than the Con was able to refute several of the Pros points. More rounds are needed for a move valid debate.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct was tied. Pro had a few spelling and sentence structure errors here and there, and Con had less. So grammar goes to Con. Pro stated that evolution is only believed by atheists, con successfully refuted this, and a lot of religious people do believe in evolution [such as Pope Francis.] Pro also said that evolution has no evidence to back it up, and is "just another theory." Con shows that there is proof, such as fossils. So that point goes to him. Neither side used sources.

Reasons for voting decision: Well, I guess no one is going to win any points from my vote. Neither gave sources. Personally, I would have made this debate more than one round. At least three rounds. One or two isn't enough for this kind of topic.
