I am posting this for a variety of reasons and I hope it will be Judged according to whom makes the better argument.

My contention is simply that "The Force" exists. I am speaking of course to the basis of the Jedi religion a source of all life as it were.

I will show that the Force defined for this debate as "an energy that flows through us all" exists.

This will be short and sweet.

My opponent feels that the "Force" exists, according to the Jedi religion. This "Force" flows through us all.

This is simply not true in reality. The "Force" is a made up energy in the Star Wars saga. Sure, energy does flow through us all, we are pulsing with it as humans. However, an energy source such as the "Force" does not.

Why does the force not exist?

I don't see many people grabbing things from fifty feet away by thinking about it. I don't see many people walking outside and lifting any kind of objects into the air by using their hands from a distance. Yes, it would be really cool if that happened. But, it doesn't.

Thank you, and I await my opponents response.

My opponent stated in his opening

"Sure, energy does flow through us all, we are pulsing with it as humans."
This is a clear admission that there is an energy that flows through us all

From my opening statement:

I will show that the Force defined for this debate as "an energy that flows through us all" exists.

As defined in the above statement opening the debate we are in agreement that it does exist.

My opponent relies on the Movie version of the Jedi religion for his view of "The Force" however when we look into the actual Religion of Jedi ism the force is defined simply as

The Force is an energy field that is generated by all
living things and permeates the universe and all
things in it.

Haha, well clearly my opponent does not understand my stance.

If you read further than just the second sentence of my stance, I clearly state that an energy such as the "Force" does not flow through us, in any way. So, to clarify, I am not in agreement that an energy such as the "Force" flows through us, simply because there is no such thing as the "Force". It is completely hypothetical, having no scientific base what-so-ever.

The "Force" is a simple belief in something, and Jedi ism is a religion that has its teachings based around the "Force" and what it is. This is a personal belief, and has shown nothing to prove the existence of a "Force".

In summary, my opponent believes there is a "Force" but has shown no solid, convincing prove that it does truly exist in the physical world.

My opponent has again contradicted himself:

"Sure, energy does flow through us all, we are pulsing with it as humans."

This one statement my opponent has agreed that there is in fact energy that flows through us all.

Scientifically various names have been to this energy.

Bio Electricity for example

Biological cells use bio electricity to store metabolic energy, to do work or trigger internal changes, and to signal one another. Bio electromagnetism is the electric current produced by action potentials along with the magnetic fields they generate through the phenomenon of electromagnetism.

"All living things run on Bio electricity"

International Journal of Bio electromagnetism.

According to the Law of conservation of Energy Energy cannot be created or destroyed merely transformed.

Orgone energy is a term coined by psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich in the late 1930s for a proposed universal creative substratum in nature, compared by his follower Charles R. Kelley to Mesmer's animal magnetism, the Odic force of Carl Reichenbach and Henri Bergson's ´┐Żlan vital.[1].

Odic Force : As von Reichenbach was investigating the manner in which the human nervous system could be affected by various substances, he was led to conceive the existence of a new force allied to electricity, magnetism, and heat, a force which he thought was radiated by most substances, and to the influence of which different persons are variously sensitive. He named this vitalist concept Odic force. Proponents say that Odic force permeates all plants, animals, and humans.

Reichenburg was a notable chemist, geologist, metallurgist, naturalist, industrialist and philosopher, and a member of the prestigious Prussian Academy of Sciences

In China the force is commonly known as Chi, here is a link to a study done in china where the Chi or "Force" of a Qi Gong master was measured using scientific techniques
http://www.scribd.com...

This study concluded that this Master was able to create a massive electro-static charge in his body when he was manipulating this Chi or "Force" it also concluded that he could alter and emitt at will infrared radiation. in a further study it was shown that other masters could cause movement in small object at distances of up to 25 feet and that the radiation they emitted at will could be measured over one hundred yards away.

Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming " There is no set deffinition of Chi in medicine there is debate weather it is electrical or magnetic but there is no doubt it exists and can be measured"

Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming

Closing:

I have shown here more than just a few random belief systems I have shown physical evidence in the form of Bio-Electricity. For thousands of years man has sought a connection with a greater energy a connective "Force" that binds all living things. It has had many names throughout history. Prana, God, Muhammad, Chi, Qi these concepts are based largely in physical evidence.

My opponent is dwelling on phrase of my argument, which is not relevant to his argument. He is trying to make me sound like I am agreeing with him, when this is not the case at all. I was stating that humans, as ANYTHING in this world, has ENERGY. A pen sitting in front of you has potential gravitational energy, so all I was saying is that humans have energy within them, not a force such as the "Force".

My opponent has showed obvious evidence that an energy such as the "Force" may exsist. Exist, he defined "Force" as "an energy that flows through us all."

He has mentioned this Odic Force, or Chi, which takes much skill and practice to harness and manipulate. In this simple breakdown of his argument, it is obvious that this Chi does not "flow through us all", only through those who know how to manipulate it. Of course all the ingredients are there in the average human body to possibly use this Chi ("Force"), not all of us humans know how to use it.

In conclusion, my opponent has provin something that already exists, which is Chi, however not shown a universal "Force" that flows through us all, as he defined in the beginning of this debate.
