This house strongly beleives that Extrra curricular Activities are necessary in schools. We study for hours at a stretch with a recess or two.We really require refreshing hours like Physical Education.

Con

Since my opponent is the instigator of this debate, and is the one who made a positive statement, the burden of proof is on my opponent. He/she must show why extra curricular activities are NECESSARY. Notice, the resolution my opponent chose does not say they are BENEFICIAL. It says they are necessary. He/she must be able to show why schools could not exist without extra curricular activities. My opponent has one round to do this. I wish my opponent luck.

Con

As I stated in round one, my opponent has the burden of proof, and as such, still needed to show why extra curricular activities are necessary. Giving reasons why they're beneficial is not enough. As it stands, my opponent has forfeited this round, and therefore has missed an opportunity to do so. With this in mind, I have won this debate by default. I am not required to prove a negative.

Yes, let's keep piling on subjects, rather than teaching people how to optimize their learning curve.

Reasons for voting decision: FF and Pro didn't present arguments in round 1 for why extra curriculum activities were necessary.
