Facebook is essential as it helps us connect with our far relatives and friends. If there is no facebook we would not have a link with our relatives and friends. Mobile may waste a lot of currency but facebook only charges internet pack or WiFi or any other thing. Our parents if they live abroad we can send them our pictures.
So I support the use of Facebook.

I'm glad to accept this and goodluck to my opponent. I think it is not essential.

Why do u think its not needed?
SCOTSKNIGHT12

Con

Facebook is not essential in my opinion because. Here is an example. I'm in Walmart in the check out line, and I'm on my phone looking at Facebook. When there is a person behind me who is being nice, and instead of having a nice conversation I decide to play games on Facebook. Which in my opinion that is really mean. Facebook is taking over our brains everyday, and instead of enjoying the world we rather sit there and just play on Facebook. If it were me I would want to get off the phone, and actually go see the world. The question is. "Would you stop looking at Facebook to see the big picture?"

Facebook hasn't been around for most of our lives. It can hardly qualify as essential.

The term "essential" means necessity; something we cannot live without. You argue that Facebook is necessary to maintain contact with friends and family if abroad, which it's not. Other sites such as Skype offer the same benefits of communication and sending photos, also free of charge.

Reasons for voting decision: Both made a few assertions as to if it aids or harms us, but neither tackled the central point of if it's essential... I personally side that it is not essential, but the preponderance of evidence presented in this debate shifts the argument vote to neither side. As for conduct... the forfeit is usually an automatic loss, but con worked hard to bridge the gap by waiting until after pro could not respond to claims "My point is right and if you don't agree don't vote on this poll." Which first of all shows he has mistaken the nature of a debate for a popularity voting poll, but also a massive disregard for conduct of even such a poll.
