I don't support Facebook because it is easy for stalkers and creeps to find your information. People lie about there account information and it is easy to trick people in thinking that you are someone that you're not.
People tend to post inappropriate images and don't use the website for its intended purpose. People have taken the website and made it into another version of MySpace which was what was trying to be avoided in the creation of Facebook. This clearly failed.
When users sign up for Facebook they should be aware that the consequences may include inappropriate photos and if any photos make users feel uncomfortable then the photos can be reported and they will be taken down.
This was not the intended use of Facebook though and users should not have to deal with the consequence of there being inappropriate images. Facebook is for sharing life events, accomplishments, and other important milestones. The fact that people can post inappropriate pictures takes away from the credibility and trustworthiness of the creator of the site.
Yes, that is true. People do have the freedom to post as they wish. We can reiterate the fact that this was no the intended purpose. Younger kids are starting to use Facebook and should not have to log on and see inappropriate pictures. At this point it's absurd the amount of profanity this website contains. There are other websites for these things.
Younger kids who are using facebook should be aware of the risk they're taking. Although the possibility that inappropriate pictures may be viewed through facebook exists it's very unlikely and if inappropriate pictures are found through this site by young children then the child or their parent or guardian should have already been aware of the possibility. They should be responsible enough to handle the situation.
There should not be a risk of your child seeing pictures like this. The other issue is that employers are able to view your profile and if they see inappropriate pictures, they are less likely to hire you. If that's a risk someone wants to take then it's up to them, but others should not be subjected to view it. Facebook has been taken out of context of its original use.
