Pro

Feminism is sexist and wrong. It is putting down males for the uprising of females. Feminists claim to want "equal rights" but, all they really want is to get free stuff from males wallets
FuzzyCatPotato

Con

A 30 minute posting period really lends itself to intellectual debate. *cough*nrly*cough*

---

Burden of Proof:

The full burden of proof is on Pro, because they must assert something to be true, while Con doesn't need to assert anything.

If Pro fails to fulfill their burden of proof, Con wins.

---

"Is" Statements:

Asserting an "is" statement implies the belief that something is, definitionally or factually, true. Consider "broccoli is green". However, an "is" statement is incorrect if even one counterexample is raised -- red broccoli, for example.

Hence, if Con can raise a single example of non-sexist or non-incorrect feminism, Con wins.

---

Counterexample to "Sexism":

I am a feminist. As such, I represent feminism, or at least a part of it.

I support gender equality, as best it can be achieved.

Sexism: "prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination ... on the basis of sex," (1).

I also do not believe either sex to be significantly superior to or different from the other. I do not prejudge people based on their sex. Hence, I am not a sexist.

Hence, part of the resolution is untrue.

---

Counterexample to "Wrong":

Feminism believes that a gap exists between the (lower) payrates of women and (higher) of men, even when in the same jobs.

This is correct (2).

---

Summary: Feminism is neither universally sexist or universally wrong; hence, the "is" statement is incorrect.

especially seeing as there will be a lot of forfeits given that this will force con to be up until 3:30 debating, assuming pro doesn't forfeit rounds first.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro instigated a debate and then forfeited every subsequent round, making no real arguments. Con proves that the motion is not universally true, therefore Pro loses. additionally, by very virtue of the fact that Pro had no sources, pro loses that too.
