Feminism was a great movement when it started. I was myself a huge feminist. But of late the movement has gone off track. They r more concentrated on finding useless traditions to get offended by them. All the feminists play nothing but a victim card. And the worst part is that they have totally curbed freedom of speech. You can't say almost anything without hurting their sentiments
Every school of intellectual thought, feminism included, must test more extremist ideas under public scrutiny. If ideas are presented to a general public and succinctly rejected, then those ideas will usually fall from mainstream understanding of an ideology, or live on in a fringe splinter group of the wider consensus. Third-wave feminism - the most modern incarnation of feminism - does dabble in divisive identity politics and, certainly, can be interpreted as infantalizing women through victim narrative politics. But the third wave is also making a strong stand to recognize women of colour, transgendered women, homosexual women, women in rural communities, and other groups that have historically been marginalized in feminist thought - traditionally interpreted to be controlled be a narrow band of people that can be described as overwhelmingly white, urban, affluent and educated. I think that dismissing the third wave wholesale is detrimental, and fails to acknowledge good ideas presented from a movement with thousands of ideas and perspectives. This current incarnation may have problems, but it also has its strengths.
