I am pro flag burning. I believe that (especially with current issues) people should be allowed to express themselves, even if that means burning a flag. If you paid for the flag you should be able to do what you want with it. If this is how you choose to express yourself then so be it- Freedom of expression my friend. Additionally, I believe if that means to induce anger by burning a political symbol to express your anger with the government; go right ahead. Who am I to judge? If you need to do something radical in order to get the attention of those who ignore your struggles, when it comes to political injustice I encourage you to do so. To spur political debate and to get people's attention in order to bring justice to whatever problem that seems to be happening.

The American flag is a representation of our freedom. Brave men and women everyday set their lives out to protect that flag, and the freedoms that it beholds. Even if you are burning an American flag as a sign as "rebellion" or even "anger," there is no right to burn it. For when they burnt those flags, it showed a sign of rebellion towards both America and the government.

Being in the Constitution, "freedom of speech," that only goes to a certain limit. Yes, you can do whatever you want with the American flag, but since the American flag has such a sentimental value to those who protect it, it in dishonoring to our country.

A small correction to Mags2's comment in round one. A citizen actually does have a constitutional right under the first Amendment to burn the flag. I hate the idea of anyone burning the flag; but a right is a right. These rights are what makes America great.

But what did they die for? Your freedom of speech. Your freedom to peaceably assemble. So the stance of illegalizing flag burning is the stance that shows disrespect towards the military. Also, our government shows that they want us to be able to burn the flag through the first amendment.

More gibberish ...

Every country in the world has it's own flag.
The idea that 1, or any, or all flags, "represent" anything doesn't make sense.
Nobody in their right mind would insist that people should show their support for freedom by banning flag burning.
Flags are just pieces of colored cloth
Burning a piece of cloth isn't disrespecting it,
nor does it create emotions in people.
Emotions are self-created, by the person who feels them.
The idea that the U.S. flag represents Lunatic Obama & his Gang is utterly ridiculous.
Nobody ever got freedom by making war.
Reality just doesn't work like that.

No one should disrespect the American flag for any reason.

The Flag of the United States of America represent so much more than just the government and its policies. It represent the trials and tribulations the people of our endured to earn the freedom that is enjoyed today by all Americans whether or not they have done anything in their live to earn it for them self or even if they are lazy cowards that just want to stand on the back of those who came before them and, gave their limbs, sanity and lives in wars or fought for civil rights all so that other may live a life without oppression.
To disrespect the Old Glory in any way, is to spit in the face those who earn these freedoms for you. If you do in in front of me don"t be surprised if I set you on fire with it. If you don"t like America, know that one of the freedoms you enjoy here is to leave, and most likely you will not be missed.
