The flag burning amendment, is a controversial proposed constitutional amendment to the United States Constitution that would allow the United States Congress to prohibit expression of political views through the physical desecration of the flag of the United States. The concept of flag desecration continues to provoke a heated debate over protecting a national symbol, protecting free speech, and protecting the liberty represented by a national symbol.

The American flag, represents more than 200 years of our history and has come to be the visible symbol which embodies our Nation. It does NOT represent the views of any particular political party, and it does not represent any particular political philosophy therefore, Burning the flag is irrelevant and disrespectful to our nation.

Im looking forward to hearing my opponents views on this debate.

In response let me quote you where we agree" The flag burning amendment, is a controversial proposed constitutional amendment to the United States Constitution that would allow the United States Congress to prohibit expression of political views ..!" Lets ask our self if we trust our government with more freedom take away's..!! We gave them the patriot act and rights to spy against their own citizens..!! Now we should add flag burning..! Let's see how they deal with what they already have..!!

However what is totally wrong is to increase the power of the government to intrude and infringe our rights. Examples of our government abuse could easily be demonstrated by focusing on a recent story of TSA agents who humiliating an elderly passenger which are too numerous to note. In one outrageous case, a man was prevented from taking a "suspicious object" onto an airliner. Was a 86-year-old Joe Foss, former governor of South Dakota, was carrying his Medal of Honor, awarded personally by President Roosevelt for heroism in World War II. Now there's a shady character requiring close scrutiny.
Foss had the medal with him to show the cadets at West Point, where he was invited to speak. But the five-pointed star looked suspicious to several TSA agents. Of course, they may not have been citizens, and even if they were, their education probably had not included anything about the Medal of Honor.

This round I will focus on abusing the trust bestowed on us by our most trusted faction! Our patriots! The ones who will put their all, into defending the liberty and freedom we all take for granted! Hence burning a flag-a symbol of freedom -was disgracing their sacrifices for our freedom, yet this very act is actually evidence thereof. By giving the power to opposing view to desecrate the symbol of freedom thereby express their -albeit disgraceful –believe. Despite it being in complete opposition to what this flag is about some urge to outlaw flag burning.
What did we learn from our war on terror? If only we got one lesson it was worthy. And the lesson we should have got is the lesson Nixon got..!! and it that your enemy could never undermine you unless you fall in their trap and play their rules.!! First round I gave a example how the TSA that was designed to protect us from terror is actually engaging in terror against our most precious citizens. We lost the war on terror by falling into their trap and implementing our enemy’s rules..! By giving up our freedom, to homeland security we adopted our enemy’s rules. No longer are we the ones setting the rules of the game! The terrorists are the ones setting the rules,! They succeeded once we agreed to enter their game.!!
We should not allow ourselves to engage in a game that its rules are in complete opposition to our core values. Our enemy however would like to tempt us to engage in their games! Burning the flag starts a game that its rules are against our values. Let’s not engage in it
