The use of the Atomic Bomb is a very versatile topic and we feel that the bombing was unnecessary and there was no need for it and didn't provide good benefits. There would really be no arguments over weapons today if the atomic bomb wasn't dropped on Japan. The military wouldn't have the stress and have to set the bar so high nowadays and be obsessive over having the most nuclear weapons and being the best. Also many people believe the bombing saved many lives but it is a fact that there was a high civilian death toll that resulted from the use of the atomic bomb. There were main damages due to the bomb. There was million dollars put into reconstructing everything that was destroyed. Albert Einstein once said " I do not believe that civilization will be wiped out in a war fought with the atomic bomb. Perhaps two-thirds of the people of the earth will be killed."

When the atomic bomb was dropped, it was one huge gamble, it would take thousands of lives, but saved millions in return. The bomb killed 60,000 to 70,000 people, but if the bomb was not dropped, the war would"ve kept prolonging and even more people would have died. It is estimated that up to a million of people would have died if the bomb wasn"t dropped. Also, the Allied strategic bombings and blockades had devastating effects of Japan, yet these efforts were not enough to compel the surrender of a Japanese military still bent on victory. Throughout June 1945, Kyushu was built up as a military stronghold. Commanders ordered soldiers and civilian volunteers to attack American tanks, asking "all able-bodied Japanese, regardless of sex" to " be prepared to sacrifice his life in suicide attacks on enemy armored forces, also, It Was Military Necessary:
Military was necessary because the Americans had to defend ourselves
U.S reporters stated that "If we would not have gone to war with Japan who would know what would happen next maybe they would have bombed New York or Washington D.C. our nations capital."

It was right. But in other circumstances, it wouldn't have been.

They werent exactly innocent. The children from Japan were trained to throw themsleves in front of American Tanks like Kamakiazez (no idea how to spell that word) And which would you prefer 150,00-200,000 deaths from the Atomic bombs or 1,214,000 if the U.S invaded Mainland Japan

@Dieter, you clearly don't know that much about history. I'll debate you on it if you want.

"When the atomic bomb was dropped, it was one huge gamble, it would take thousands of lives, but saved millions in return. "

What baloney. There is a difference between killing a soldier on the battlefield and throwing bombs on innocent civilians.

@ethicsphilosopher, do you think the Japan bombing was alright? Because if you don't, I'll debate you.

We should only use such things if they are completely necessary and if we are saving more people than we are killing.

Otherwise, we can't just play with people's lives like that. Innocent lives.....

What about the children that have died?

What about the big brothers and sisters? The mothers and fathers?

We must have orphaned many children.

But still, in the right circumstances, I do beleive that it is necessary. And, in the wrong circumstances,
Whoever launched it will be damned with an eternity in hell for the lives he has ended.
