Con

In case you did not see my comment, my brother took my Ipod while I was sleeping so I couldn't post a video for the last round. While this debate is over, I implore my opponent to debate me again in the near future if he wishes so we can finish this debate.

Saw the comment, I'm open to that :)

Con

As I know I will lose this debate because of my forfeit I ask my opponent if he would like to have another debate on the same topic to make up for the sudden end to this one.
TUF

Pro

Yes definitely, and I shall await your challenge.

Thankyou for those of you who watched the first two rounds. :)

I was impressed with how well both sides did with the video format. They spoke clearly without a lot of fumbling or mistakes.

Pro wins due to the forfeit rule agreed to by both sides.

On the substance, I go with Con, even though he is no doubt a Commie. The resolution says "forced" and I didn't buy Pro's argument that "forced" doesn't really mean "forced" in any substantial way. The school context reasonably limits free speech, but only for good reasons related to the purposes of education. Had the resolution been "Leading students in saying the Pledge is a good practice." I would have found Pro's arguments compelling. Student's might then be excused with parental consent. Still, school implies a weak type of force, in the sense of "forced to take tests", so Pro might have defused the "forced" argument early on by citing the context.

Good debate.

In all likelyhood I will forfeit the next round as my brother took my Ipod and I have no way of posting my arguments on video.

But seriously guys great arguments!
Con hasn't had the opportunity to provide clash yet (but judging from our debate I know it will be good) but thud far I love the Con Constructive's C3 and the Pro Refutation on C2

Both of you speak clearly and frankly; so it really helps the flow of the debate.
But you need more energy in your voice; it's hard to pay attention to some-one speaking so monotonously.
