This house believes that France is racist for banning the Nicab. I will be arguing against this motion. It is the job of my opponent to define the debate and argue his points.

Thank you in advance.

Pro

"Islam" is not a race.

Therefore, it's not racist

Well, as it seems pro is arguing my side of the debate as well, it appears that I don't need to argue anything, as he is totally agreeing with me.

Pro

I am not a "him", thank you.

I was not able to see a difference between your first
argument and the title of the debate.
I apologize.

Perhaps you shall start another and I will just watch, good?

Sorry. I am use to referring to my opponent as "he", as I often debate with one of my good friends.

Yes, I will be reopening this debate. Thank you for your polite attitude dawn.

How the hell am I losing this debate?

Pro literally didn't say anything constructive at all.

I was shoveling a bit of snow in our, communal parking lot.

My middle eastern neighbors skirt me, very carefully, so that they don't
get non-veiled filth on them.

My other neighbors say, "hi, cold enough fer yah?"

Yes, the middle eastern neighbors speak English, they just think
that a woman who isn't heeling behind a man is filth.

Yes, I shovel a bit for the community. I am an exercise teacher
and it is just dumb for me to exercise inside and then, complain about having enough parking spots when I can just go shovel.

The management is ok with my -free- help.
(more spots for every one is more spots for me too)

Although dawn may have presented it in a sarcastic manner, I agree with her points. I am a firm believer in women's rights, and it can be incredibly patronising to a women if they are told that if they are unveiled they are doing something wrong. I am all for religious beliefs, and if they truly want to wear the niqab then that's fine, but in some cases they do it against their own will. I also believe in choice, but it has to be given to them so that they can come to a final decision.

OH! YES! Be SURE to suppress women and tell them that they are lesser being YAH!!!

and, give another way for people to hide
and, in case you didn't know, veiled women are SURE that all other women are pure shyte
and that they are allowed to be rude to unveiled women.

Veiled women are SURE that they are superior humans.
This is rude and stupid.
NOTICE TO ALL VEILED WOMEN: I AM nottttttttt A PROSTITUTE BECAUSE I HAD ANY JOB AT ALL

well till now no other country has done this . france is the first one. I am against it because it restricts women to follow their religion, no one is forcing them to wear a niqab everyone should have the right to do whatever they want to within certain limits and wearing niqab is an essential part of islam.

Yes it is. I may reopen it, but I don't think the motion was very good. I may reconsider and just have a debate about whether the Niqab should be banned or not.

This is over the Niqab correct (small spelling error)? When you reopen this (which I suggest doing now, as pro forfeited R1).

Hmmm, I realise now that this could have caused some confusion. I was always taught to let pro define, but perhaps I have caused this misunderstanding by including the motion in my opening argument.

Sorry for any confusion that this title may have caused. I wanted this to be more of a discussion because I have seen some other debates that have said this.

Interestingly, Pro seems to have argued the con side of the debate. I don't think he knows that he is pro!

He was stating pros resolution... however letting pro define the terms, could lead to a quick semantics victory
