Pro

Labeling GM foods is unnecessary because there are no proven health risks and it would hurt businesses by causing fear in customers (no one likes to hear the words "genetically modified").
tylergraham95

Con

I accept my opponents challenge. I contend that food companies should put a label on their food indicating whether or not GMOs are in the food.

GMOs are defined as Genetically Modified Organisms.
A Label qualifying as any marking anywhere on the outside of the container that indicates whether or not there are GMOs present.

I look forward to an interesting debate.

Interesting that my opponent forfeits r1, but I suppose I'll post an argument just in case he does come back. I'll keep it short.

Pros Case

Everyone has a right to know what they are consuming. That's why product information is clearly labeled on all food containers. You can see the ingredients, the calories, and other information that you may or may not find useful. All ingredients, though, must be labeled, as false advertising is deceptive and harmful to capitalism. Therefore, if a food contains GMO, people have a right to know if they want to. There must be a label somewhere on the package. It doesn't have to be right on the front. But there must be one somewhere.

you won already pro there are NO HEALTH PROBLEMS AT ALL, unless made very badly. ORGANIC is simply an organism so gmos are organic too, democrat communists just always change the name of the thing to sound better, so they once again changed the name of: hillbilly joe's farmed in manure and without any pesticide (therefore high in disease chance) open for usage. ALSO I AM IN NEVADA so i know the hillbilly stereo-type, only some are true with some people but organic farmers normally are diseased morons.
