Con

This will be a one-on-one battle against to Pokémon. I will be battling as Swampert, my opponent will be Garchomp. I have made it 5 rounds just in case our Pokémon don't die in the first three or four.

Rules

1. No use of semantics or linguistics.

2. No items are allowed to be used.

3. Your Pokémon is only allowed to use items during this match.

4. You are not allowed to call upon allies or other Pokémon, An Ally in this match is refereed to anything that is living or can think on its own.

5. Your Pokémon is not allowed to evolve during the match even though both our Pokémon are at full evolutions.

6. Both Pokémon are at Level. 100 with max stats.

7. You are only allowed to use moves that your Pokémon actually know, Just to make sure it does, after every battle you are to post a source in which that move is involved in that Pokémon's move list.

I await my opponents acceptance and he is allowed to add any rules that I didn't just previously include.

Pro

I accept this debate. However, I do not understand rules 2 and 3, since they seem to contradict each other. Therefore, rule 3 should be removed. In addition, I would like to add some rules.

8. PP (number of times a move can be used) will not be used for this debate. The pokemon can use the move until they die, faint, or become over-exhausted.

9. The pokemon will not be limited to 4 moves. They can an unlimited moveset, so long as they can actually use those moves.

That's all. I hope my opponent enjoys this debate as much as I do.

Well, I will post what my Pokemon will do to set an example.....
I will be using all of my moves from this website...{1}

Go Swampert!

Swampert use Hammer Arm! Super Effective!

That is all. In my opponents turn he will decide truthfully what amount of HP he has lost. As will I, when he uses a move against me.
Multi_Pyrocytophage

Pro

Alright, let the debate commence!

Rebuttals

Hammer Arm is a Fighting-type move, which is not super-effective on Ground or Dragon types, therefore meaning Hammer Arm is not super effective on Garchomp.

Argument

According to the damage calculator, a Hammer Arm from Swampert against Garchomp, assuming both pokemon are level 100 and have max stats (rule 6), Garchomp will take 86 damage, leaving it with 336 health (420-86).

Garchomp used Dragon Claw!

According to the same damage calculator, and the same stats from before, Garchomp will deal 120 damage to Swampert, leaving it with 284 health, (404-120).

My apologies. I assumed ground and rock were the same type.

It appears that my opponent has already chosen his amount of hp that is left for me so I will do that too.

Swampert, use Surf!

Super Affective!

Putting in consideration that this move is Super Affective, My opponents Pokémon's HP goes from 336 to 200 because of its insignificantly small amount of Defense and Special Defense.
Multi_Pyrocytophage

Pro

I thank my opponent for his speedy response.

Rebuttals

Surf, a water-type move, is not super-effective against Garchomp. Although water is super effective against ground, it is not very effective against dragon, making Surf a neutral move on Garchomp. With that said, the damage calculation must be redone.

Using the same calculator from before, and both pokemon with max stats at level 100, Garchomp will take 111 damage from Surf, leaving it with 225 health (336-111).

Argument.

Garchomp used Earthquake!

Using the same calculator from before, and both pokemon are at max stats, Swampert will take 151 damage from Earthquake, leaving it with 133 health (284-151).

Note:
I would like to say that Garchomp should be getting to attack before Swampert does, because Garchomp's base speed is higher than Swampert's. Therefore, Garchomp used Earthquake on Swampert before Swampert used Surf, as is Garchomp used Dragon Claw before Swampert used Hammer Arm.

Con

Alright, well I guess I will use my move even though Garchomp goes first...

Swampert use Endeavor!

The move Endeavor is used only when the user Pokemon has a lower HP then the other. Once used both of the Pokemon will have the same HP as the Pokemon that used it.

Pro

Garchomp used Earthquake!

Since Earthquake will do 151 damage, as shown in the previous round, Garchomp will knock out Swampert, who only has 133 health.

Since Garchomp has knocked out Swampert, I urge you to vote for Pro!

Well apperently I have died.... Oh well? I now realized I could have used Ice Beam instead so....

The End!

Well, kudos to kyro90 for a good battle. In fact, if you check the comments section, you should carefully consider your vote.

I guess that's it for this debate.

Yep. If you used Ice Beam, you would have won, so technically I didn't win this debate very fairly since you did not know all of your options.

I was actually hoping my opponent wouldn't use Ice Beam, because I already would have lost it he had used it.

Well, now that Swampert is basically doomed, I simply must ask: whatever happened to Ice Beam?

Sorry, I meant Kyogre, not Swampert. I don't know why I said that.

How about a debate where I use Swampert and one of you uses Groudon? Or we could even do a double battle to make things more exciting!

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct to Pro. Con was mistaken about super-effectiveness multiple times. Grammar to Pro. It's "super effective," not "affective." Arguments to Pro. Swampert fainted. Sources to Pro. He used them.

Reasons for voting decision: I really can't believe that Swampert didn't win. I gave Pro conduct because Con repeatedly asserted that moves were super effective when they weren't. Pro got spelling because Con said "Super Affective" which makes my eyes bleed. Pro had more convincing arguments, as he won. Pro also used sources, actually bringing a damage calculator into play.
