(This is gonna be evidence free since opening) I feel that Gay Marriage should be allowed nationwide because people have a right to do what they want, and there is nothing making society worse from this.
SPENCERJOYAGE14

Con

It is interesting that this debate is going to be about feelings with no evidence at all. I thank Dr.Corgi for his opening statement.

There are many of reasons gay marriage is wrong. One of them are that it damages children"s growth. My opponent said, "people have a right to do what they want" but that statement is incorrect, people have the right to do what they want, as long as it is not hurting anyone else. If I went to a children"s playground and shot up all the kids because I wanted to that isn"t a right.

Well, of course shooting kids isnt a right as that is Illegal. The thing is is that people have the right to love each other. Just because their the same sex doesnt mean that it shouldn't exist. If they love each other that should be helped not hindered. It doesnt really harm children because they don't exactly have the ability to create one so there isn't really any children to be hurt. In fact its good because then they can adopt one of the many children that don't have. There is no original american law(like made when US was founded) that said people couldnt be gay.

Wish that evidence could have been introduced... was the Bible allowed to be brought up? If so, I had a few verses you could have used Spencer.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct goes to Pro as a counter to what appears to be an unwarranted vote by jesusfreak. I saw no reason to award conduct points to Con. The same is true for S&G. Con made an unsupported assertion that having gay parents is detrimental to a child's growth, which was refuted by Pro in the next round. Pro's points in round 2 were left unrefuted.
