Gay marriage is wrong because children who live in a same sex home need to have a mother or a father. children may develop social disorders from living in a same sex home. Also the definition of marriage is the relationship that exists between a husband and a wife.

Same sex marriage is a good thing because allow these people to express there love to another person. In modern society, gay marriage is accepted because people don't really care, as long as this person is happy, then why does it matter. The real definition of marriage is song commitment between husband and wife, or in cases the same sex. So this shows that marriage itself accepts gay marriage

It is in the child"s best interests that he be raised under the influence of his natural father and mother. This rule is confirmed by the evident difficulties faced by the many children who are orphans or are raised by a single parent, a relative, or a foster parent.

The unfortunate situation of these children will be the norm for all children of a same-sex "marriage." A child of a same-sex "marriage" will always be deprived of either his natural mother or father. He will necessarily be raised by one party who has no blood relationship with him. He will always be deprived of either a mother or a father role model.

Same-sex "marriage" ignores a child"s best interests.

In a study done by mark regnerus, he has found that a child from homosexual parents suffer no disadvantages compared to a child raised by a mother and father. Which means that a child of a homosexual is the same as being raised with a mom and dad

A recent study from the Family Research Council has found that children living in a lesbian home

Are more likely to be currently cohabiting
Are almost 4 times more likely to be currently on public assistance
Are less likely to be currently employed full-time
Are more than 3 times more likely to be unemployed
Are nearly 4 times more likely to identify as something other than entirely heterosexual
Are 3 times as likely to have had an affair while married or cohabiting
Are an astonishing 10 times more likely to have been "touched sexually by a parent or other adult caregiver."
Are nearly 4 times as likely to have been "physically forced" to have sex against their will

A recent study by abbie goldberg shows that gay parents might be the best parents because gay parents are able to bring out more talent than straight parent, and gay parents are more motivated and determined to be parents, not people who are only focused on work.
Straight parent are also worse because the 2 genders have very different perspectives on life, meaning that the parents will be raising the kid to look at life in 2 completely different manners. The parents will end up butting heads, and this increases the chance of divorce, which perminately affects the child.

Pro

A marriage between a Straight couple has been proved to end more likely in a divorce. this shows that the kid of that couple is more likely to be worse than a gay couple because divorce permanently affects the child in a negative way. this happens because the kid loses a lot of connection to there mother/father figure. in a gay couple, divorce is less likely to happen, and affects the kid a lot less then a kid that comes from a straight household

Marriage has always been a sacred bond between a man and a woman.Homosexual couples using in vitro fertilization (IVF) or surrogate mothers deliberately create a class of children who will live apart from their mother or father. Yale Child Study Center psychiatrist Kyle Pruett reports that children of IVF often ask their single or lesbian mothers about their fathers, asking their mothers questions like the following:"Mommy, what did you do with my daddy?" "Can I write him a letter?" "Has he ever seen me?" "Didn't you like him? Didn't he like me?"
This shows that children really need their biological parents or else they develop social disorders and have identity problems.

Pro

Same sex marriage may highly decreases the amount of orphans there are. because of the fact that a gay couple cant reproduce, most gay couple with then go to adoption.

gay marriage promotes equality and helps show a society without discrimination. Gay marriage helps people who are homophobic accept gays in general. making gay marriage illegal also can give of the vibe that straight people are more important than gay people, which is unconstitutional

4 points to Pro (Conduct, Arguments), 2 points to Con (Sources). Reasons for voting decision: Con forfeited a round, which is rude, so they had worse conduct. Spelling and grammar was tied, but since Con's entire argument was a single point, Pro had a better argument. Con only had one source, but that was more than pro, so Con wins the reliable source category.

[*Reason for removal*] (1) Arguments are insufficiently explained. Having more arguments alone is not sufficient for explaining why one side is winning these points " the quality of those points need to be assessed. (2) Sources are insufficiently explained. Even if the difference is 0 to 1, the voter still has to establish the reliability of the given source, and not just state that its presence establishes its reliability.

I feel like this debate went off topic a bit. This debate was supposed to be focused on gay marriage, not about the feelings of children who have gay parents. However there was a lot of information provided, which would have been good if it didn't seem so repetitive.
